wonder when we'll start to hear of the early season college football TV schedules...

I mean- right now we're only 120 days away from 1st regular season Saturday. 17 weeks from tomorrow.

Didn't ESPN do their drop of the first 3 weeks of TV games around Memorial Day in the past?

The first FBS games kick off on August 28, 113 days away.

Yesterday was the mid-point between the 2020 CFP title game and the next FBS games.

Yes, this is one of my favorite days every year (refreshing Matt Sarz' blog) and the first 3 weeks usually get dropped around Memorial Day-June 1.

This day never happened last year.

The networks are running a bit behind schedule but that probably shouldn't be any surprise given the fact that FCS is still playing...
The bulk of the Week 1-3 games were announced on:

May 30 in 2019.

May 16 in 2018.

May 31 in 2017.

Based on the last 3 "normal" years, we are not yet near "behind schedule."

I could almost see them announcing it 2 weeks from now after the FCS title game.

Any time now especially after a week from now could be realistic.
The ACC has its spring meetings this week. Traditionally the TV schedule for the first 3 weeks is announced during those meetings.

I think the new ACC commissioner was also planning to schedule the first 3 weeks of Big Ten games - for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights.

On the Ocho? 03-lmfao

They (ESPN) have about two weeks to release it or it won't make the Football Preview Magazines.

BTW, don't the earliest preview magazines come out about June 10th?
One of the first big scheduling news to come out, from Oregon's Twitter page.

Here's the first time in 2021 you'll here this phrase from me, "Big Nooner":) It won't be the last!
starting to trickle out...

Interesting game for both teams. 2021 is the year Chip has to win, or else even his diehards will give up on him, and it's Orgeron's year to show whether he's the long term answer at LSU or whether he's LSU's version of Gene Chizik.

I see why you might say that, but IMO there are some differences. In addition to winning the national title, Orgeron also has won another NY6 bowl, something Chizik never sniffed at. And this will be Orgeron's sixth season at LSU, Chizik had four years at Auburn.

Of course, Orgeron has to win this year. But in that, he's no different than the coaches at any elite program. They all are just a couple of 6-6, or even 8-4, seasons from the unemployment line, albeit usually with a $20 million or so golden parachute.

Why would the FCS schedule have anything to do with the timing of the Fall FBS schedule?

I'm speculating based on the fact that so many teams open against an FCS.
