I think that was one of the best teams in history not to win a championship.

No doubt.
one of my favorite games ever
Always a pleasure to watch that complete dismantling of Sparty. I live in Izzo's hometown of Iron Mountain, MI. Known the family forever. I still wished for what we saw. Best part was...going into the weekend Sparty fans told me how they'd hammer the Tigers. They don't play the same kind of schedule, blah blah blah. Heard it a million times.

It was a pleasure returning to work on Monday without saying a word. (Although, Tuesday wasn't much fun.)
That was a special TEAM... a core nucleus of talented guys who put the team goals above individual goals. Cal used to be able to get guys to focus on team, but now I wonder if any coach can get that kind of buy in. Scott Drew certainly did this year and Mark Few does in most years; but there’s a reason Roy Williams retired early.

I’d like to see basketball adopt the same early entry rules as baseball; and really clamp down on transfers. Kids need time to develop and allowing kids to bail so easily on teaches them to give up and leave instead of staying put and fighting for a spot.

What is timestamp for Joey's dunk? Felt like he jumped from the FT line. haha

70 is early ?

Compared to the rest of the ACC, lol. It was "early" primarily because of it was unexpected and unplanned, according to most national guys.

15th according to that guy
Every time this comes up we talk about Joey's dunk.

AA's dunk before half time is without question is better. And is my opinion the most 'team oriented' offensive action ever by a tiger team.

From the 1:01 to the :56 mark. 1 block/steal, 1 rebound/steal, 4 passes, 2 dribbles (only), slam at the other end of the floor. 4 players touched the ball.

Awsome.

Interesting read. I think the first 5 are probably right. I'd say Kansas 1997 and Memphis 2008 are tied for 6 right behind this years Gonzaga team.
wife and i were at that game. i just remember the collective gasp the mainly texas crowd had at halftime. it was like whoa, what did we just witness. Then of course Neitzel leaving the court crying. sat down by the court after the 1st media timeout. cool experience

Yassssss...... was complete and utter DOMINATION....the faces of disbelief in the crowd was priceless....seeing our team last season, with remaining core and addition of Earl.....we can get close to this intensity.....However Joey will never be replaced.....unreal athleticism and strength..

My college roommate and I watched this game at the old BWW at Poplar Plaza and decided at halftime no way are we not roadtripping to Houston to see us play Texas. We ended up meeting some shady dude outside Reliant and bought tix that we were like 50/50 were actually legit. Ended up sitting in the club level which felt like a mile from the court. Sweetest feeling was running down to lower level to watch us get the regional trophy and passing all those butthurt Texas fans leaving.
