I thought it would be worth our while to have an on-going thread of personnel changes at WAC member institutions that are not deserving of their own thread - thinking athletic administrative-related type things or perhaps even Olympic sports. We've had some good traction on football & men's basketball coaching threads.

Let's start off with the two new AD hires (one removing an interim tag, the other gaining a full-time job)

Boggs Named VP of Athletics at Grand Canyon was announced today.

Last week, Tyler Mariucci was named the AD for Cal Baptist with a press conference tomorrow. Yes, Tyler is the son of Steve of NFL fame.

Utah Valley is looking for a new women's golf coach after their coach for more than a decade Sue Nyhus announced her retirement. She spent time at BYU before making the move to UVU.

Relatively good news for SFA with their women’s coach getting the extension

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – SFA Director of Athletics Ryan Ivey announced on Monday a contract extension between SFA and women's head basketball coach Mark Kellogg. The joint agreement extends Kellogg's contract through the 2025-26 season, and comes on the heels of a 24-3 campaign that saw the Ladyjacks sweep the Southland Conference championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Kellogg and his team captured SFA's first regular season title since the 2014-15 season, and its first Southland Tournament Title and NCAA tournament appearance since 2006.

"We are excited to be able to offer this well-deserved and merited contract extension to Coach Kellogg", said Ivey. "Coming off a remarkable season that was filled with adversity and challenges, our priority was to be able to protect and continue to move our program forward. As we transition into the WAC, securing Coach Kellogg and being able to continue the momentum of our Ladyjack basketball program is critical to our long term success. The future is bright for our program and we are excited that Coach Kellogg will remain with us."

Makes sense. Only wins this year were non D1 schools and he lost to every Southland (and inbound WAC school) on the schedule. Overall record subpar. Will need to get used to an even better league in ‘22 so UTRGV making right move

Contract extension for ACU women’s soccer coach

ABILENE – Head women's soccer coach Casey Wilson has signed a contract extension, keeping him with the program he started in 2007 all the way through the 2025 season. Wilson has built a constant power at ACU, and just completed his 14th season with the program he built from scratch, and has a remarkable 157-98-23 record. The contract keeps him on the sideline at Elmer Gray Stadium for the next five seasons.

ACU is working to secure their best of the best and give them reassurances that they are "good" while transitioning to the WAC? What's the situation with the baseball coach?

I assume any announcement about baseball will take place once the current season is competed. Suffice to say ACU will be doing their best to sign him to an extension.
GCU softball hire includes ties to Abilene Christian…

A proven winner through every step of a decorated coaching career, Shanon Hays was named the second head coach in the history of the Grand Canyon softball program on Friday.

EDINBURG, Texas – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vice President and Director of Athletics Chasse Conque announced on Friday that Nathan Robinson, who spent the last four years (2017-21) as an assistant coach at UC Davis, is the new men's tennis head coach.

Robinson guided the Aggies to the semifinals of the Big West Tournament twice (2018 and 2019) while also helping them start the 2019 season 6-0, which is the best start to a season in program history.

Robinson coached 11 players to All-Big West Conference honors, including the 2021 first team doubles duo of Ivan Thamma and David Goulak. Thamma also earned first team honors in singles.

Robinson guided Thamma and Goulak to a program record No. 43 ranking in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) doubles rankings in 2020 while also coaching Thamma to Big West Freshman of the Year honors in 2018.

And he has already caused a **** storm in Phoenix and alienated a good portion of the local women's coaches.

1) Dismissed 14 of the 20 players on the roster
2) Brought in his daughter
3) GCU has refused to refund housing deposits for the dismissed players, and is charging a cancellation fee to boot.

New President at Lamar...

What is interesting is that he worked under the relatively new Sam Houston State president, who was then-President at Austin Peay. The athletic director? Current SFA athletic director Ryan Ivey. The three new Texas schools in the WAC all have "Let's Go Peay" in their roots!
