The NCAA is now allowing 50%. I assume the other 3 quarterfinal games, being in Texas, Alabama, and South Dakota, will allow that, while JMU, because VA is behind the times, barring a change this week, will be limited to 30% capacity.
-UND beat Mo St 44-10 at home, for their 1st playoff win in school history. Were in the playoffs last season, where they lost 1st round @ Nichols St.
-Had 4 straight games cancelled, including a rescheduled one vs YSU. Their win over Mo St was their 1st game in 35 days, when they lost @ NDSU 34-13 on March 20.

-UND has won 11 straight at home, 6 over ranked. Going back to 2018 (UND's last season as a Big Sky member), excluding their 2018 P5 loss @ Washington:
Home: 12-1 (7-1 vs ranked). Last home loss was 2018 to then #4 Weber 35-30.
Away: 5-8 (1-4 vs ranked).

Clearly they are a MUCH better team at home in their dome. The contrast is striking. They're like an NDSU at home, and on the road are subpar..
Didnt UND beat Danny Rocco’s RU team in the Alerus Dome in the playoffs right before Danny bolted for Delaware?

So all 4 quarterfinal games are on Sunday.

Anyone seen an explanation for why all these games are on Sunday?

Sunday night game kind of sucks.
They were listing the actual TV games only as Sunday with the other two ESPN3 games on Saturday, but I guess they (ESPN) changed their mind. Not sure really.

I guess that makes sense...for ESPN.

I had 2 screens going yesterday to watch the games. The NDSU game was unbearable since Trey Lance got more screen time than a QB who actually plays for the Bizon.

Governor announced an increase to 50% capacity for outdoor venues earlier this week, but it isn’t effective until May 15.
IF we win this one, and NDSU dispatches Sammy, pretty sure the semifinal will be on ABC. It’s a real shame Virginia couldn’t lift the cap a week sooner.

UND handled SIU and SDSU pretty convincingly (along with MSU), they are no pushovers. We’ve got our work cutout for us this week.
UND tickets on sale now with Tues 5pm DC deadline.

Early weather outlook for this game looks much more pleasant.
Tickets ordered.

Looked at the TV listing for next Saturday and the NFL Draft is on all day on ESPN and the SWAC Championship Game is on ESPN2 in the afternoon so perhaps those two things are why all the game are on Sunday. 6:00 PM kinda bites but will stay overnight and head back home Monday as the game will probably not end till way after 9PM due to all of the stupid TV timeouts.

Brian
Is there a link up to order tickets yet?

EDIT: NVM - found it!

-At home
-At home
-At home

Due to their dome, their schedule was front loaded with home games. The games that got cancelled were on the back half of their schedule (3 of the 4 (YSU 2x) were away, how convenient of their opponents).

This team is night and day between home and away. As per my original post, I don’t know if I‘ve deen a team with that big a contrast over a 3 yr period.
UND had 8 sacks yesterday, a record. High pressure defense.

Quote:"We challenged our guys that we have to get pressure on the quarterback because we felt they were really skilled," Schweigert said. "It was a really good job by our guys to execute our pressures and a good job by our defensive staff for designing the pressures. It was a big difference in the game. It's tough when you don't have much time. It makes it difficult on the offense on what to call."

Quote:"Not a good game for us at all," Missouri State first-year coach Bobby Petrino said. "Too many negative plays. Our offensive front got beat up by their defensive front."

I say screw Ralph and we just call it a protest against all Fighting Hawks, sign up at any peaceful/friendly looking tailgate site starting at noon.

Seriously though, I don't see more than 8K fans being interested in attending a Sunday night game.

Sunday night is a little more difficult, but the weather looks to be good, and likely some fans haven't had an opportunity to see the Dukes play in person this year. There could be some pent up demand just to get out of the house and see one.

Also, this is a pretty good team, and its a playoff game, not some snoozefest vs Moorehead. Not sure if we'll get 8k or not, but conditions are good for a nice turnout.

Arent finals the following week too? I doubt many students will be in attendance
This ND team will absolutely be the best team we’ve faced this season. The grumbling about a Sunday night game on ESPN2...wow.
