The ideal move is simple. Follow Richmonds path. Fans would have GW,UR,VCU, and GMU games all basically in state. Most alumni in these markets!

Easy. Why don’t we focua on this solution.
Pssst. We're not good at basketball.

I agree A10 makes sense. They won't even look our direction unless we are going or knocking on the door yearly to the NCAA tournament. The possibility of multiple bids and the money that accompanies it is all the A10 would care about.
I wanted to date the prettiest girl in the class, also. She wasn't interested.
Most relationships are two-way streets. We haven't even come close to holding up our end.
Sure I'd love to be in the A-10. Someone make it happen.

I think that the A-10 is a great idea for W&M if you don't really care about the company you keep. It definitely makes geographic sense.
I'm in. Should the Ivy League be plan B and the ACC plan C, or vice versa?
The point of this should be...if/when the A-10 decides to expand from 14 to 16 teams...or a school leaves the conference creating a vacancy, we should be prepared to submit a viable bid to join the league at that time. If Richmond can be a CAA football only school, so can the Tribe
I agree it would be a great outcome and something we should be striving for.

Gotta say I don't understand this one MJ. I prefer the schools of the A-10 to the schools of the CAA.

There's a few schools that I don't consider up to W&M's standards.....but who am I to judge? I think that the A-10 would be prefect for Tribe Athletics. Davidson, Fordham & Richmond all have a W&M type vibe.
Academics, urban/rural, diversity, school size, public/private, etc should never factor into athletics conference affiliation. It's an athletic conference, not a debate club.

I disagree. All of those should factor into conference affiliation. If you don't share those important factors with other conference members.....you have a very shaky foundation for future conference stability.
jeff's right, we should be in a conference of schools that are older than the Constitution. Or maybe a conference where every school's colors are green and gold. Or some other random commonality, because whatever one is arbitrarily selected will mean that there are dozens more that don't match up.

Rice, Cal Poly, W&M, WF, Notre Dame, and Monmouth have very little in common with most of their conferencemates.

W&M will no doubt stay in the CAA.....it's safe (for now). I don't see W&M athletics as being in any type of leadership position for change. They'll make a decision only if they are forced to.
I ate this in Bangor, Maine. Hotel restaurant. It was very delicious. [Image: 31a6a7b6c98ad4bb1d72994359506d9a.jpg]

I am curious why WM fans think the A10 is such a reach

Our oldest rival in in the conference. 2 recent CAA teams are in the conference

Have we sunken that low that we want to play in a conference w NO tv coverage

2 other state schools in the conference. Let me say that again. 2 basically spin offs of WM are in the conference. Same tax payers. Remember when Warner mandated that Va Texh be invited in the ACC

This should be doable. Anyone remember great VCU games w fans? We have watched ODU VCU GMU UR all make strides. Lets not wait firm JMU to leave and then hope we can get a home and home w CNU
