Has withdrawn his name from the transfer portal and is staying at NU.

This is big news for NU.

I think it's a win-win. I was wondering all along why he was looking to move but maybe he was just exploring options like so many others
This is huge. As of now, it means we lose only one contributor from the 20-21 team. We lose more than that most years. It took guts to call Bill and ask if his scholarship was still availablr. I wonder what he got in the way of offers.

Probably none, which is why he's coming back if I had to guess.
I was talking with Whitey from the Diehard Dogs board couple of weeks ago and we agreed that it wouldn't be surprising for Shaq to pull out of the portal.

I think a lot of players enter the portal expecting the big schools to start courting them. When it doesn't happen it must be a reality check. Shaq is a huge asset at the CAA level and I'm thrilled to have him back. He has really improved over the past couple of years and I bet he'll have a big senior year.

Very true, but usually they aren't the conference's best player. There were times when we looked like a one man team, but I do think there's bright times ahead.

Agree all around here. Happy to have him back and am expecting big things.

True, it feels a little like the years when we lost guys like TJ (an actual POY), Vasa, Barea (another actual POY) or Shawn James.....none of which stopped us from thriving.

One last thing on Shaq. He made a smart decision. He won't have to worry about minutes. He'll have maybe more court time than he wants to improve his game and showcase himself for a shot at the next level.
