Stan Heath!

(According to Jeremy Guy)

Now that’s interesting!
Will he be the coach who was one-hit wonder at Kent State, or the guy who had a .427 winning percentage at USF?

Or the guy who won 3 coach of the year, awards and put his team's into post season play?

Possible, but history's not on his side.

Eastern hasn't been to Big Dance since '98 or had MAC COY since '96.

Murphy didn’t win COY in 2012?

Oops - I stand corrected.

Good catch KPJ, thanks.
This hiring continues a very unusual MAC trend. I wonder if any other conference has had 3 coaches ( Stan Heath at Kent, Jim Christian at Kent, and John Groce at Ohio) who won the league, took a job at a power conference school and then ended up back coaching in the MAC at a rival school. Christian was able to actually climb out of the league to a power conference twice.

I've seen videos of Heath addressing the players and his presser yesterday.

Stan is very young for his age and has plenty left in the tank. He seems vibrant and could go out and run a mile or two with his players.

For him, he is all fired up about coming home and being a HC at his alma mater. This isn't simply another item on a long resume.

He's also got 5 NCAA tournament wins.
