I heard about this on the local radio yesterday:

Is this a big story in Cincinnati? I was really surprised to hear a story about UC on my local radio here in the middle of Illinois.

Good publicity for both schools. The DJ said something like, "I've never had a rooting interest in either school, but now I'm a fan of both schools."
This happened a couple months ago and was covered by the local news. On top of the things mentioned in this article, Chad Brendel and BCJ did their own crowdsourcing and raised a ton of cash. It was a cool thing to see.

I'm pretty sure they got up to or over $15,000 just through BCJ/Brendel fundraising.
Yeah, it's been a pretty big deal. Scoreboard on the westside just posted they received a $2000 tip from a Xavier fan/alum.

We hit 19K. Helped the staff at Holy Grail, Mio's and 12 other local businesses in the process. It was an incredible experience to see the reactions as we helped out so many of the spots that define the Cincinnati experience...
