03-idea i want Penny to find a 6'7" point guard ... 03-idea

Does 6’6 work?

Who’s ready for another round of lawsons ?
Ike has learned from the street TIGERNATION will have a transfer coming in who is close to LOCK status
Ike can't name names but Ike can say the Dude can play point if needed but most importantly he is a shooter with a
UNBELIEVABLE TREY BALL. Penny's got this relax and lay low, Ike will give additional information when the time is right, at the moment another high powered program is pressing the Dude.
Ike and his sources r confident the Dude will select TIGERNATION. Bye Boogie

I hope you are talking about Noah Locke from Florida.. It better not be the younger Lawson.
I can’t imagine it would be either of these 2 if he’s saying it’s a transfer that can play the point. Locke averaged 0.7 assists per game playing a lot of minutes. He seems to be a 2 guard. The younger Lawson (Jonathan) is a H.S. senior.

I’ll just trust in Penny to get the player he wants that will be a good fit.

So we're not looking for a PG? Or we can't get a high level PG willing to play less than 50% of the minutes?

Lomax played 21.6 minutes per game for a team with literally no other point guard. According to Atlanta, if we get a great point guard, he will play LESS than Lomax. That is how completely clueless some of our fans are.
5 guards played last year right now we have three with Boogie and Baugh leaving

Lomax
Lester
Nolley

None of the three incoming freshmen are classified as guards although I don’t know that much about them

Yes, could handle a guard or two, I am confident Penny will find them. Lomax and Lester can both handle the point but if no one else transfers out this is a team an additional strong veteran guard could solidify as a national contender. Wish that guard was Boogie but that ship sailed

Forward seems better with the three incoming frosh, if just one of them is solid that replaces DJ, especially with the expected growth from Cisse and Dandridge. Again, if Nolley or Williams or Cisse etc leave that really stinks
The ridiculous logic employed by some around here is to think Penny will have Lomax as a junior play less minutes next season than he did this season in deference to a newcomer who doesn't know Penny's system. And that said high level PG transfer will be interested with the prospect of playing less than half of the game. And just to remind folks Lomax played 21 mins avg per game, ALL at PG - there are only 40 mins in a game. But sure some high level PG transfer disgruntled by not getting the minutes he wants to audition for the NBA is coming to Memphis to play less than half the game at PG. It's Alice in Wonderland logic. 01-wingedeagle

And I'll add if Penny was willing to play this high level PG say 28-32 mins avg per game, he already had one on the team.

If you’re saying Boogie was the answer then I don’t know what to tell you. Boogie was not a point guard.

If you don't think Boogie was a PG after our best stretch of wins against the best competition we had all year with him playing PG, I don't know what to say.

How many assists did average during that stretch and how often was he starting the offense?
