CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!

Hope Rice fans do not mind but I thought ANY national championship deserves it's own thread.

Enjoy hanging that banner!

Is this the first national championship in any WOMEN'S sport??
Rice took Old Miss behind the shed and kick their ass. First time Conf USA has won the WNIT.
Congrats Rice fans. That's fun.
Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am very proud of you. Go Rice!
CONGRATS RICE!!!
Way to go Rice!
Should have been in the tourney, but that’s just me.

Rice should definitely be in the NCAA Tournament ahead of these two Women's teams I'm watching right now. Neither #2 Louisville or #6 Oregon can shoot worth doo doo. With 7 min left in the half, the score is 14-8, Louisville leading. Never seen so many missed shots. Not a good exhibition for Women's Basketball.

Update.....Louisville leads Oregon 29-14 at the HALF. Louisville, a #2 seed, finally started hitting some shots. Oregon on the other hand, has NO BUSINESS being in the NCAA Tournament.

- Ducks shot 7 of 27 for 26% in the first half

- Louisville connected on 13 of 36 for 34% in the first half
Congrats Rice
The ACC got 8 teams into the tournament (and they only had 13 teams playing this season after the opt-outs). Only Louisville is left standing, and I'm guessing they'll get stomped by Stanford in a couple of days.

The Big 10 (and Pac 10) are doing fine. The Big 12 still has a couple of teams left as of right now (let's see if Texas can stay with Maryland - I don't think they will). But the ACC and SEC were highly overrated and got way too many teams into the tournament (15 between the two conferences - only 2 teams are left out of those 15).
Way to go Rice! Congrats!
Congrats!
Congrats Rice!
Karen Aston to UTSA. Impressive hire for the roadrunners.

Good for UTSA. Maybe they're finally going to pour some money into their athletic department. As the only public D1 university in San Antonio, it floored me how bad they were this year - in a year when the city of San Antonio is hosting the entire NCAA women's tournament.

They have a chance to quickly turn around things there, especially if they go all in on the deep transfer pool and make the right choices.
Super news! Congrats, Owls. Everyone in CUSA should be celebrating a national championship
Congratulations and great job by Rice. Certainly deserving.
Well done Rice. You should've been in the NCAA's, but I'm sure those ladies are enjoying a WNIT championship.
