This one came as a bit of a surprise, although I shouldn't be, since ViacomCBS has started loading up on soccer properties over the past year or so. Paramount+ not only is going to show Serie A but also the Argentinian and Brazilian leagues. Plus they've loaded up on World Cup CONCACAF qualifiers, which has to please the diehards even more.
So much for a sports bubble. In the past two years, we've seen the Bundesliga go from GolTV, to Fox Sports, to now ESPN+. Serie A was on BeIn Sports, where they couldn't be found. Then they moved to ESPN+ a couple of years ago.
The people at EPL and La Liga have to be looking at this and thinking it's time to cash in even more.
