How ‘bout them Ramblers! Go Porter!
They got screwed in their seeding, but makes their road a little easier now. I wouldn't bet against them making the Final 4 again.
Still think the Abilene Christian upset is the biggest. What are there 15-20 programs in Texas more highly regarded the ACU. They were DII when Joe Golding took over. And they beat THE University of Texas. Only in March.

I don't think they got as screwed as many do. They played by most purposes the weakest 9 seed in a Georgia Tech team that was a bubble team most of the year, and then of all the 1 seeds they could face, they played an instate team that had a resume that in many years is a 2 or 3 seed, but because of the weirdness of this season, became a 1 seed.

Had they been stuck as the 8 seed that had Gonzaga as the round 2 opponent, I'd have agreed with you, even if they had gotten Baylor I'd have agreed. But they got a better draw than most would think.

Well, you certainly turned out to be right. Of course, it wasn't known the GaTech would be missing the ACC player of the Year. I thought Illinois was really good, but like always the Big 10 is over-rated. I heard commentators wondering if we could have an all Big 10 Final 4 or, at least, 3 Big 10 team in the Final 4.
It is a good formula. Recruit fundamentally sound big men, and then somehow get them to stay four years. IF you can pull it off.
