Darious Hall. His coach at DePaul was fired today. EX-hog and ex-LR Mills player. He would be a senior but might be able to graduate considering he had a redshirt year and made the Big East All Academic team. Has never averaged more than 5.1 pts a game, but would likely be more of a factor in the Belt.

I would take 5.1 BEAST points per game in a heartbeat.
According to Verbal Commits, Darious Hall entered the Transfer Portal 2 hours ago. I will be disappointed if he doesn't come back "home".
Javon Franklin (Auburn) who originally played at Parkview also just entered the Portal. No reason we shouldn't be able to bring both Hall and Franklin home. They both had their chance at the "big time". No it's time to come home and play for a coach with an NBA Championship ring. Obviously, he played at Parkview with CJ White, so maybe that helps as well.
634 transfers listed on Verbal Commits. 36 added since I posted yesterday. The rule allowing one-time "no sit out" transfers hasn't even passed yet. All hell will break loose when it does.
I'll be fine with becoming "Rebound U". Let us become the home for local kids who want to come back home. Add that to our foreign players and we can put together some really good teams.
I hate the transfer thing so much. With no sit-out, it will crush programs like ours. We already have our good coaches bailing as soon as they do well, now our players will too. You can’t build a good team from our level that way. It will always be “year-by-year”. I bet eventually it gets much harder for coaches to move up then, because they can’t build anything and build a name. Then I’ll bet the coaches start speaking out against the transfer rule. Everything will come full circle.
I hate it as well. We’ll just have to adjust. No more building with promising freshman. We’ll have to hit the transfer market every year. Foreign players may be a little more loyal, or less likely to move around in a country they are less familiar with.
Transfer Portal is up to 839 right now. Might well go over 1000 before it is over.
I'm still unclear if this year's seniors can choose to transfer to another school to play their "free" year. I guess, if they graduated, they may well be able to transfer under the graduate transfer rule. Things will really get crazy, if guys like Ruot and Ben can transfer and play somewhere else if they chose to. I see little benefit for Ruot to come back next season. However, it could be argued that a transfer to a big time program, for an extra year, could get him the exposure he needs to get drafted. I don't really think he is an NBA prospect but, of course, I didn't think Derek Fisher was either. I did think Rayjon Tucker was, and he was now on an NBA roster.
Well, if we are going to consider these athletes as employees (as the Powers That Be seem to), and they are not required to have any loyalty to the school that wanted them, then I feel no obligation the other direction. If the player doesn't perform, jerk the scholarship and send him on his way.

Unfortunately, I believe this has been going on for years. So maybe giving players complete freedom of movement is the "right" thing to do. I just believe it will ruin college athletics as we know it. Of course, the same argument was made about free agency, in the pros, years ago. We can argue about whether it has destroyed pro sports (certainly the big market teams have distinct advantages), although I believe there are still more restrictions on movement then there will be in college if the transfer rule passes.
I read an article today that just took the view that athletes should be able to transfer freely just like any other student. It will just change how schools recruit and how they treat their student athletes. More emphasis on transfers and some "old" school coaches may have to be "nicer" in their treatment of their players.
Per twitter, Kris Bankston is headed to Norfolk State
Headed for an NCAA tournament team. Happy for him

Water under the bridge now, but I kind of wonder why he stopped getting playing time and then walked away from the team. He always could have transferred at the end of the season.
Verbal Commits is now over 1000 transfers, specifically 1005 at 5pm. It is not up to date as it does not list a destination for Kris Bankston. We have 8 teams still playing who will have some more transfers. The number will go up in the coming days, but it may become more of a "trickle" than a waterfall of new transfers.

That is also a very good question. And, if we knew the answer to it, we might have better insight into why the preseason pick to win the conference went into free fall and total collapse.

As a fan, I would like to have that insight. However, at this point, I am ready to move on with the hope that the coaching staff can rectify the situation and get the program, once again, moving in a positive direction. It does appear that next season will be a rebuilding year, but with a couple of good transfers that can change pretty quickly.
Well Yacine Toumi is transferring too

Too bad we didn’t get to see him play more. I also hope this doesn’t indicate a bigger coach-player locker room problem than we thought.
Confirmed: UALR freshman Yacine Toumi has entered the transfer portal. The 6-9 forward from France averaged 1.9 points and 1.4 rebounds in seven games in 2020-21.

He is the third Trojans player to enter the portal since the end of the season.
