Gonzaga is the best team but I have a feeling they're just going to be the runner-up as usual. I'm not sure yet of who I think would actually win it.

I figure if anyone beats Gonzaga it will be an upset. But there are several teams that could do it.

I'll take the field, but I have no clue who will beat the Zags.

They won't win it all, but Porter's bunch may possibly make some noise again this year. Their big guy is a textbook in the post, and has been all along. And he is a senior this season.

It won't be Virginia. They just don't have the horses this year, plus they had all that last-minute Covid distraction.

I usually root for the teams that win with discipline, defense, and good execution, not with athleticism and high-powered offenses. (TTech and Virginia was a dream Finals for me.) But I might make an exception for the Zags this season. It is their turn, and Few certainly has earned it.

They start with Georgia Tech who has won 8 ACC games in a row. Tech has a person in their "traveling party" that tested positive, but won't reveal if it is a player or staff. I guess they could be vulnerable if it is a key player. Regardless, Loyola could certainly beat Tech and I believe they are favored to do so. But, beating #1 Illinois is a different story.

I heard Porter say on the radio that Loyola got "screwed" with their seeding. I agree 100%.

Yeah, the Illini are salty.

The "experts" are really high on Gonzaga. I really haven't seen them play, but they are obviously very good. Probably won't really be tested the first 2 rounds. But, they will still have to beat 4 really good teams to win the whole thing.

Wow. The player who is out is the ACC player of the year, Moses Wright. Lucky I haven't submitted my bracket anywhere.

I love watching Krutwig. He is not quick or graceful, but he is so fundamentally sound.

Except for the true powerhouse programs, like UCLA in the '60s and '70s, luck enters into winning the tournament to such a degree that it is extremely difficult to pick. (Like the 3-shot foul on Kyle Guy late in the Auburn game. The ref got it right, but he easily could have missed it.) I don't think Gonzaga quite reaches that level, but logically I do think they are the pick of the litter.

Well, I found out tonight who would beat them. Gonzaga was never really in the game from the opening tip.

I eventually picked Baylor in my bracket for the challenge. Everybody else in my bracket pool picked Gonzaga. Ultimately my Baylor pick and trust in a Loyola run got me the win in the bracket challenge!
