Congrats to the green and gold Spartans of NSU and Booman. At least we have something to root for in March now.

That, and whoever is playing VCU.
I need a feel-good story. It would be great if NSU pulled out a big win in the tournament. A deep run for Lo-Chi would lift my spirits as well.
I always root for NSU. All MEAC teams have a hard, hard road to finance their sports programs. They deserve anything good that comes their way.
Congrats Booman
Way to go Spartans!

Why would that be stirring the pot? As a small conference school going up against the power conferences, Liberty is deserving as well.

Wishing success for Norfolk State, UNCG, App. State, Drexel, Iona, Liberty, North Texas, etc. against the big name conference schools.

I've heard a rumor that Liberty might generate controversy on message boards. I'll talk to my sources and see if I can't firm that up.

So then, you and Giles have attempted to turn this thread into a political statement where none existed before? Got it. 07-coffee3
Do you think the Spartans will be seeded low enough to draw Gonzaga or Illinois or someone like that? Guess the Zags would play the winner of the play in game though, is that right?

I'm not sure about those play in games. Seems like they sometimes have some mid-level seeded teams involved in those as well instead of just the lowest rated teams.

I think there are some teams (App. St. maybe) that are rated lower than Norfolk State so they may bump their way up to a 15 seed if there are enough teams worse than they are involved. We'll know it all in just a few more hours though. Missed the March Madness last year so I'm looking forward to it. 04-cheers

No, I'm attempting to add a bit of levity and you whiffed on it like a toddler chasing a Gerrit Cole four-seamer.

Look closer: 05-stirthepot has a smile on his face.
Behold! ..The selection committee screwing both Norfolk State and App State.
No conference champ should be in a “play-in” game.

Awful.
They get a chance at a win vs App St, that would be a huge lift for them...money and press.
I'm glad Drexel got in. Had some pretty good teams but with us, vcu, and mason in the conference they never could quite get past that threshold.
