Luke was named to the CAA second team. Conner was named Rookie of the Year.

Congrats to both. Now we need them to play lights out starting tomorrow.
WHERE'S THE CHATTER ON THIS TRIBE???

Luke 2nd Team All-CAA and 1st Team All-Defense
Mehkel 1st Team All-Defense
Connor Rookie of the Year

We have 2/5th of the best defensive team in the conference and it's best rookie! I hope Luke plays with a chip on his shoulder all tourney because for my money he could have gotten 1st team and DPOY. Let's go Tribe!
Hopefully Luke comes back for the extra year. Congrats to Kochera for ROY honors and to Harvey for his defense.
Congrats to Luke on his tremendous improvement in his time wearing the "Green & Gold." I just hope some of the freshmen and sophomores on this team can improve the way Luke has.
Well-deserved awards for Connor and Luke, and for Matt Lewis as POY.

-Tariq Coburn (averaging 16 PPG shooting 40% from three) on the third team is crazy. He's every bit as good as Jalen Ray.
-I cannot think of a single reason one might put Dylan Painter over James Butler for the first team.
-UNCW is better than their record and Mike Okauru isn't bad, but he's the fourth-best player on the last-place team and wasn't a good choice for a spot.
I think it's interesting that Harvey makes first team defense and isn't a starter.

Oddly enough, Harvey actually averaged slightly more mpg than Wight did (20.5 vs 19.5), despite only starting 4 games, and this holds true even if you discount the game Wight was out for.
If Harvey can improve his ball handling skills next year (and a possible additional years after that) he may become quite
a player. The sky's the limit for Connor...barring injury, he's got the makeup of a major player.

Harvey is great on shot blocking and D but needs better grasp of the offensive flow

Mehkel's obvious offensive limitations/rawness aside, it's still pretty crazy that a guy with his defensive record and physical profile was available in May and had, IIRC, only four other offers (despite obviously not caring about location). Guys like that don't grow on trees outside the P5.

Coburn doesn't do much other than score, and his rebounds are down from last season. Last season Coburn led Ray in rebounds 5.5 to 2.9, but this season Coburn led 3.9 to 3.3. Ray averaged 3.4 assists and 1.6 assists per turnover. Coburn averaged 0.8 assists and 0.7 assists per turnover.

Painter scored 0.1 more than Butler. Painter led in rebounds with 2.5 more than Butler. Butler shot better and had more assists than turnovers, which is great for a forward. Isaac Kante had a much worse assist/turnover ratio than the other two. With Lewis, Ray, Walker, and Wynter, there was only going to be one forward on the First Team, and nobody was by far the best forward.

Okauru is third on UNCW in points per game (first in points), second in rebounds per game, first in assists per game per far, and first in steals per game by far. His weakness is shooting. 14.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.8 steals is a combination that could have been good enough for the Second Team if he shot better and/or if UNCW was better.
