Jay Sandos is going to be on with Don Helman today at 11:00 on the Monster to talk Buc basketball.
2 points in 8 minutes..
This is pitiful! What did we do leading up Shay? Goodness!
Chatt def wanted it more tonight but did not have the horses. I’m really concerned about LA Brewer, in particular—he threw the ball away at least 5 times tonight for no apparent reason. We absolutely need him on his top game to advance any farther.
There is not another team left in the tournament that we can beat playing like this.

We played pretty listless and low energy. We haven't played in a while, but there are no excuses here.

This team has talent, but we haven't played well in a while. I frankly doubt that we can turn it on now. I hope that I am wrong.
This Chattanooga team was without Malachi Smith (leading in scoring 18 ppg, rebounds 8+ per game, assists and steals) and without Darius Banks, 11 ppg scorer 4.0 rebounds and 6-6 218 of athletic defense.

Bucs have the talent to win it all. But I saw little evidence today of the fight and desire that would take.

Sloan and Damari would not let us lose today. But it will take more than that.

7 turnovers for LA. Lots of blame to go around today, and I probably shouldn't single out anybody. But this is a guy as talented as anybody in the conference. Here's hoping for better things tomorrow.

Thankfully, we’re not talking blame for a loss, but LA was absolutely off his rocker with that ball tonight—throwing it behind himself multiple times to no one, launching it well over Vonnie’s head one time, running into traffic and doing the turnover dosey-do while his brother sits wide open all but pleading for a conventional pass. LA gets singled out this time because he’s one of the team’s stars, and the Bucs can’t get this done without him playing smart ball.
Jan. 2, in Greensboro - Bucs win 71-61

Feb. 27 in Johnson City - UNCG wins in overtime, 85-74

In their first tournament game, the Bucs struggled against Chattanooga, but UNCG also struggled against The Citadel.

Two strong defensive teams with offensive difficulties. Looks like 40 (or 45) tough, gritty minutes.

Remember to defend Koval shooting 3's from the top of the key. Freshman A.J. McGinnis is their best 3 point shooter. Angelo Allegri and Kyre Thompson off the bench can get hot from 3.

Trust your teammates, and make the extra pass. But take it right at them hard when the opportunity presents. Do NOT make lazy passes. You must step to meet the pass, or these guys will pick it off.

You play the season for this game. Against the #1 seed and the Player of the Year. Show everybody what you can do. Go Bucs!
UNCG takes care of the ball pretty well. We don't. Must keep TOs down because we know that press is coming.

Miller is going to get his points. Had 32 and 24 point games against us, and he is in a roll. Hoping he has somewhat of an off game would he helpful. Can't let the others step up and beat us as SWVa noted.

Like most of our games, if we are shooting the three well, we have a chance. I think we will need at least 8-10 made 3s. If we are off, then it will probably be a long day.

Making our FTs can't hurt either.

But whatever happens, surely we won't come out flat and lackadaisical for a semi final tourney game against UNCG? Right?

Let's hope yesterday was a rev up day for the Bucs and they come out and play the way we know they can. Like SW said, let the Bucs show everyone how they can play. Play hard and play well Bucs!
The program and coach Shay need this game and the one tomorrow night too. I feel like the program is at a tipping point with all the controversy. Winning this tournament can bring the focus back on basketball and keep us moving ahead. It’s definitely in them to do it.
Seems like they’ve handled the press ok last 2 games. It’s the unforced turnovers which will make the difference. Ladarius had 6-7 yesterday and he's certainly not alone. Can’t win otherwise.
We need L Brewer to have an all conference game today. The sloppy to's must be eliminated for us to have a chance. Honestly, he needs to go toe for toe vs Miller.

Yes Bucs need to come out and take control and win. People have told me all year that this team has already over achieved just to get where they are this year. We must remember that we had basically new players and new coaches this year. I seem to forget that myself. That said, Bucs have the talent to win this thing and they just have to put together two more good efforts. Go Bucs!
That was an entertaining half. This is anyone's game.
Played about as well as we could that first half. Can we keep it up
Announcer: “UNCG with a second shot, third shot, fourth shot rebound opportunity.”
Came out of halftime flat...game over.
How can you be flat in that situation?
