Interesting to note that WMU has roughly 1/4 of the team consisting of Michigan HS graduates, and a sizeable portion of that group are walk on players. I don't ever remember the number of scholy guys being quite this low.
I don't know for sure but I would guess it was lower than that under Cubit

What would you attribute that to?

I went back to 2005 if anyone is interested.

Your percentages are off. You list 35 Michigan in 2021 but only have 30 highlighted red, that drops the percentage by several points. I didn't double check the other years.

I agree... I thought we went full on 100 mile circumference... or something like that. So Illinois/Indiana/Wisconsin/Ohio etc...

If they are close and are the right fit who cares about the percentage that actually come from michigan?

Six hours times 70 mph is a 420 mile radius.

Just off the top of my head that’s got to include parts of New York State, Pennsylvania, all of Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, all of Indiana, Illinois and parts of Missouri, Iowa including Minnesota. Obviously a chunk of Wisconsin. Could it be Swiss please?

I made a quick function to calculate for me. I wasn't going to count them all. It's correct on the actual google sheet. Something must be wrong when I published on the web?
