Lost to the Zits in baseball....who had lost 26 of their last 27 games.
Maybe their new AD is better than our new AD!!
@ Ball State this weekend.

Lost game 1 8-2, won game 2 9-4, Lost game 3 8-7, & are currently winning game 4 12-6 in the 6th inning.

Mack Timbrook and Michael Turner still aren't playing. They must have serious injuries, because if not they would be starting @ SS & 3B.

There are 2 series left in the MAC Regular season. WMU @ Home next weekend and @ EMU the last weekend of the season. They play vs Akron @ home during a mid week game as well.

The following starters will return next season: Miknis @ Catcher, Matthews @ CF, Timbrook @ SS, McNamara @ 2B, Kirby @ RF, Jackson @ 3B, & Longwell will most likely start @ 1B.
KSU beat Ball State 19-8 and had 22 hits and 0 errors. Split the weekend series.

aha, that would explain it KSU315. Thank you
Good win @ home to start the series vs WMU. 14-4

KSU is now 18-15 in MAC play and sit in 5th place. WMU & Toledo are tied for 3rd @ 19-14, so if KSU can win the series vs WMU they would move into 3rd place. Toledo is @ NIU this weekend and then home vs CMU to close out the season.

Ball State and CMU are tied for 1st with a record of 24-9 in MAC and 33-16 identical records overall.
For those of you who have been around a long time. former Kent State baseball player Kenneth D. “Goose” Geiselman passed away earlier this month. He was a heck of a good player at Kent State in the late 1960s and then in the top amateur baseball league in Stark County for years.

Kent State will need to win 3 of their 5 final games to keep their 30 win season streak alive which I believe stands at 21 (Minus COVID year)

They have a game against TSDTR and 4 at EMU

Edit: Lost to Zippy today. Zippy is 3-19 on the road. Two of those wins were in Portage County
Kent State lost on a walk off to EMU meaning they will need to win their final 3 games to have their 21 straight 30+ win season keep going

Jim

Nothing is going to overcome the disappointing season this year.
This team greatly underachieved by any standard.

They simply did not play the Kent State brand of Baseball we have all become accustomed to the last 30 yrs.

I watched almost all games and something was missing. Timely Hitting , Great pitching, Good defense all missing often.

I don’t have the answers but it was not what we all expect.

What I find interesting is I expected an uptick in wins because of the 40 game MAC schedule, not this.

Edit: Flashes win game both games of the DH. A win tomorrow clinches 30 wins in the season finale

Either MAC has improved or we have regressed and are just one of the pack again. A most disappointing season .
A big part of it is teams love to beat Kent and this year’s team (and last few teams actually) don’t really understand that. I don’t want to say they aren’t mentally tough enough to handle that but it’s something in that vein. But the rest of the MAC hates Kent States guts for the success they’ve had and the beatings they’ve handed out for 20 years. You have to understand those expectations. You have to know teams cross the bridge at Schoonover and see those banners and want to beat your ass so bad. I don’t think they last few teams have done a good job of handling that. I mean they went 15-14 at home this year. 14 losses at home. I wonder if we lost 14 home games in 2010 2011 and 2012 combined.

Jim,
Agree 110%. Coaches job, and players we recruit
need to have fire and pride to not let that happen.
Not close enough to know who the team leaders are, but toughness needs
to be there.
Great points. Home field no advantage to Kent
this year .
Flashes close the season with a win for 30+ wins for the 22nd time straight.
Well at least Kent State baseball beat the National Champions this year once....Mississippi State

We also got no-hit by the National Champions. 03-lmfao
Any guesses on where Albright goes in the draft? I think his stock dropped in April/May, but I’ve got to think a lot of teams will like his stuff and will take him if he’s available in the 4th or 5th round. I think he will likely go between 2nd and 5th rounds and my guess will be 3rd round.

He was ranked as the 151st ranked prospect but went in the 6th round, 168th overall to Arizona.
