Its funny how a few years pass and the ranking systems which "matter" change so much. In certain years a 70 something rpi would make the dance while a 32 would get left out. Neither IMO are very good indications of who is actually good. But in a year with about 7 decent teams, having 4 top 100s in the one that "matters" is noteworthy.

No metric is going to be perfect, but NET is vastly better than RPI
top 100 isn't a key metric with the NET. what you are mostly looking at is top 30, top 75, top 135

quad 1 games, those most valued by the committee are home games against top 30 teams and road games against top 75 teams (also neutral court against top 50)

quad 2 games, also valued by the committee, are home vs 31-75 and road vs 76-135 (the sweet spot for most MAC teams to get quality wins) as well as neutral vs 51-100.

everything else, even a home game against the #76 team, is a quad 3 or quad 4 game which are generally considered bad losses or fairly inconsequential wins.

looking at toledo, for example, right now the only MAC game that pumps up their resume is the road win at kent. the home wins over ohio, kent and akron and the road wins at miami and bg help their overall NET ranking but don't stand out as big wins to the committee. kent losing nuga and taking a home loss to akron dropped them below 75 and Toledo went from have a quad 1 road win at kent and a quad 2 home win to only having a single quad 2 road win.
If I am being honest I'm happy about playing the B1G Leader, beating the Horizon league leader, playing a A10 contender tough, and doing better than anyone else in the MAC thus far. Ball State, Marshall and Bradley have lost importance to me besides for BSU to be a competitor in our great league.
St Bonivenenture and Wright State hold good importance for other teams in our league as well.
