A couple of months ago there was a lot of "deaths in 2020 will be the same as 2019" talk on here around covid, and a graphic with that popped up the other day. The provisional numbers for deaths from all causes from the CDC are pretty solid for 2020 now, and there are WAY more deaths in 2020 than in previous years.

2020 - (52 week period ending 1/2/21) - 3.38M deaths from all causes.
2019 - 2.85M deaths from all causes
2018 - 2.83M deaths from all causes

530k more deaths in 2020 than 2019.
so it will decrease in 2021.
Breaking News: Due to the pandemic and amount of baby boomers, the average weekly deaths have increased.
Breaking News: People die.

In other news: Water is wet.
Ummm you realize that the number of people standing on the 18th tee is growing exponentially every year now with babyboomers getting into their 70's.

Not to be morbid, but the death rate is likely to grow in the coming years based on the simple fact that the number of people hitting "death age" is spiking as well. People can make numbers tell whatever story they want to be told.

So the virus killed 300k and the lockdowns killed another 200k.
My oft repeated comment is that COVID is an accelerator of death. It kills people, mainly, who would have been dead in the next 12-24 months anyway. Doesn’t mean that’s acceptable, or not sad, but you will see below forecasted death rates with the end of it because it has done some culling of the herd.

I’d say worse than that. A lot of the ‘vid deaths were
People who would have died this year anyway, so more like virus-100k, lockdowns - 400k.

This. I work in health care. I also lost a 54 year old business partner. He was in very poor health. He was easily 5’8 340 pounds, had a highly stressful job that required travel, and had already had stents placed in his heart twice. He developed Covid, was in the hospital on a vent die three weeks. He was subsequently discharged for rehabilitation when he threw a blood clot and died.

I miss my friend. However, if he would not thrown a clot over this he would have thrown a clot over something else down the line.

If this jump was due to an aging population then you would see a more gradual ramp in, and an even distribution across the year following the same peak and valley that previous years have.

The fact that the spikes coincide with the beginning of covid, and the second surge in infections, makes it very unlikely that an 18.5% spike in deaths from all causes is due to "people are getting older".

That accounts for 1200 of the 530k additional deaths.
How many deaths were duplicated? Such as those of people who died of cancer, heart disease, any type of organ failure, Old age, car crash, suicide, homicide, BLM. Were those deaths counted once and correctly or shoved into the covid numbers out of pure laziness and deceit?

Not if we don't get everyone vaccinated and control mutations.

None. These are the deaths from all causes stats. This is simply a count of every death certificate issued in the US in 2020. One death, one death cert.

We have had lockdowns in one way or another throughout the year. How does your "lockdowns killed 400k people" theory account for the correlation between deaths per week and the second surge at the end of the year?
