The Mocs went undefeated out of conference, beating #91 UAB on the road when the Bucs could not do it in Freedom Hall, and also posting wins over Northern Kentucky and UNC Asheville. They have struggled some in the very tough SoCon but have kept every game but Wofford close. They are a dangerous midlevel SoCon team capable of beating anyone in the conference. 6-7 220 St. Louis transfer KC Hankton (10.8 ppg, 4.0 reb., 1.8 steals)is a tough defender and rebounder, and has only been eligible for 7 games and 6-6 218 1,000 point scorer at JMU Darius Banks (13.8 ppg, 5.0 reb, 2.0 asst) has only been eligible for 5. The Mocs are still learning how best to work with them, but they would be in the rotation for anybody in the SoCon.
Chattanooga is average from 3: .360 (5th in SoCon) with 7.9 makes (7th). They are not efficient from 2, at .501 (10th).
However, they are excellent free throw shooters at .820, 1st in the SoCon. So don’t foul to stop a shot attempt (.501 versus .820!)
Rebounding margin: -5.3, last in conference, compared to ETSU’s +6.8, first in conference
Turnover margin: +2.8 compared to ETSU’s +0.67. Remember that it was points off turnovers that they used to turn the game around in their last game against Western Carolina by forcing 16 t.o.’s to their 9, and scoring 21 points off turnover to 8 for the ‘Cats. They can score in bunches getting points from defense.
It would be nice to see ETSU make progress toward playing a more complete and consistent game. Kenpom has ETSU by 6.
Go Bucs!

When does the team arrive? because they haven't shown up yet.

Played pretty bad most of game, no defense and almost stole it and got beat on pretty well defended shot.
Came out not ready to play. Did not deserve to win. No excuse for that performance.
We were lucky to even be in a position to win. Haven't looked like the same team the last few games. Hope they figure it out.

Yes. A step slow in all aspects. Need to get that figured out. We made Chatt look a whole lot better than what they are. No way we deserved to win.
We were lethargic, sluggish and tired looking. One little spurt closed it at the end of the first half. Then, finally, the last 7 or 8 minutes were pretty good.
Playing this way will not win many SoCon games. We aren't good enough to just turn it on for 7 minutes.
And Wofford just goes roaring on, beating Furman at Furman 75-67. They come out fired up and ready to play every night. Well, unless it's against a service academy.
We could really learn something from that consistent effort.
It is hard to win on the road, Jay. Ohhhh wait...
Everybody has got the Bucs figured out. On offense, strictly a perimeter team, weak at PG, SG and PF. Defense, weak at PF and SF. When Bucs sub at the post, no offense or defense. Chatt made a living in the paint today.
