Anything new? It's an open secret that they want a permanent all-sports home, football included. Their ASUN membership is a marriage of convenience since the Big South was fixing to boot them. Right now, the ASUN is the only conference that will have them.
Seismic change coming real soon either in 2021 or 2022.

Hearing something specific or just guessing?

A little of both my guy says odu is publicly saying great things about conference usa but are exploring "options" .

I personally think odu has no choice but to find something that makes more sense to them. I do like the indy route. I still hear sun belt and I wish it was the aac,but I seriously doubt that will happen. I just don't see why the conference just splits in two and the east adds liberty and maybe have uconn and umass for football or jmu and maybe chattanooga. Maybe even poach Uab.It just makes so much sense
I just don’t see how the SB is any better of a situation unless it takes ODU, UNCC, Liberty and JMU. They’d have to dump several teams for that to happen. I’d just as soon stay in CUSA if the members remain the same

Same. Just sweeping sand from one side of the room to the other. No way driving to Atlanta and Boone instead of Huntington and Bowling Green justifies the entry/exit fees.

Not sure if you follow @MattBrownEP on Twitter but in writing a story about CAA realignment back in October he added that "while calling around on this story, two different industry sources told me that multiple schools in Conference USA looked into splitting off and starting their own league, just like the MWC did from the WAC, to form a more east-coast-ish conference."

I'd like to cut the Florida schools loose but for the sake of easiness C-USA East plus UAB, Liberty & JMU would work for me.
I still like the idea of the A10 for all sports and the football scheduling alliance. I really hope thats what happens.

Agreed.

CUSA = Taking your sister to the prom.

Sunbelt = Taking your cousin to the prom.

Either way (unless you're from West Virginia) you're going home frustrated.

Both of which are actually illegal in WV but marrying your cousin is legal in VA. Go figured?

Is the Sun Belt our first cousin or second cousin? Because there's no way I'm taking my sister to the prom.

First cousin. Sunbelt is over for every holiday, you have grown up alongside her since you were both babies, you go to church with her family every sunday and the two of you have attended the same school with 50 people in your graduating class since kindergarten.

I dunno.
We were members of the Sun Belt for 9 or 10 years. They are more like our siblings as well.

Yes. But comparing that SB to the current one is like comparing current CUSA to the one that had Louisville, Cincinnati and Memphis.

CUSA 2020 is Sunbelt 1985 (sans the Texas Schools).

I seem to recall USF and VCU being in it with us too.
Back in the 70s the colts and the Packers played to a tie on MNF. Howard Cosell and Don Meredith had been going after each other all game long very cattily. I think it was in the timeline when MNF was trying to get Meredith to stop smoking grass before the games. After this game was when they relented as long as he kept it on the downlow.

Anyway, as time expired Cosell said, “They say a tie is like kissing your sister!” Meredith replied, “doesn’t that depend on what your sister looks like?” You could hear Cosell slam his headset down and leave the room.
What is ODUs incentive to leave CUSA for the sun belt? One odd football season where they outperformed? I think it’s ridiculous that we are basing these assumptions on a comment from one poster saying “I am hearing sunbelt.”
