That was a nice low stress over. Had to sweat that last turnover and 3 pt. attempts, though.

As for the game/season ... has Kent's perimeter team defense ever been this suspect? Ever??? Good to see the ability to score, and that is the name of the game these days. But just a little bit of 40-minute defense would make this team extremely dangerous, IMO, instead of hot-and-cold.
Our 3 conference losses have been by a combined 8 points and then a loss to UVA. I think we are pretty good. Time will tell.
And one loss came on the road after we had about a week and a half of no practice and the game scheduled just over 24 hrs before tipoff. We looked very rusty in that game.
I like this team a lot.

Yes, this team is VERY GOOD, but it's the little things that Kent usually has a handle on that are nagging; last two games alone missed layups in the final seconds ... bad inbounds passes in the final minutes ... and the previously mentioned perimeter defense. The bulk of this is not coaching but an attention to detail by the players ... it seems Kent has usually been among the better teams in the MAC, if not nationally, w/perimeter defense. Just not so far.
I understand and agree this team somewhat gets a pass considering so many key parts are new (all the more kudos to staff for getting team to play this well). Just pointing out some things that could help this team get better down the stretch.

Just to compare ...This is off the Toledo board:
On the defensive end, Toledo’s opponents have made only 127 Three Point Shots giving the Rockets an advantage of 67 more Three Pointers made or 201 total points. In addition, Toledo’s Three Point Field Goal Percentage Defense is ranked 38th nationally at 29.1%. Add in a strong floor game with Toledo ranking 9th nationally in assist per game (16.8) and 15th in assists/turnover ratio (1.49), and you have a team playing “winning” basketball.
Just FYI ... Kent is also playing 'WINNING' basketball ... but the above could be the difference between 2 wins and 2 losses.

And those 3 losses are to the current #1 and #2 teams in the MAC. Kenpom has us at #2 in the MAC #102 overall with the #2 SOS in the MAC. I also think we're pretty good. Just need to close out a little better.
