instead of starting a new thread each time, just post updates here. Temple is postponed and Houston is likely postponed:

Imagine being a player and trying to stay engaged this year.
Rick Pitino's plea to move the season to the Spring is looking more prophetic as the weeks go on.
So have all three recent cancellations/postponements been on UC's behalf? I'm seeing quite a few postponements around the country when checking scores on ESPN.com.

I realize our individual student athletes deserve privacy on health care matters but some further update from Coach Brannen or UC would be helpful for fans who are concerned generally for our players and coaches and are wondering when they anticipate being ready to resume the conference season.
Why should anyone listen to St. Rick? All the deaths and hospitalizations of players?

If we were 7-3 overall and 4-1 in the AAC instead of the inverse and in last place I wonder if you’d feel differently. Somehow having a total squad numbering about 100 or so in uniform and dozens of staffers in football worked.

MBB has positive tests like half of this board has already had. They will likely be cleared in a week or so and we will get back to playing largely bad basketball.

It’s crazy they didn’t start playing in late february with an end date in early June.

Games played on Saturday/Sunday in the same city, off for the week or if needed use the weekdays more makeup games.
The League probably should've done Thursday-Sunday Flight series with every team in the league (and one on a bye). Would've made it easier to rotate games and not have one team impact 5 teams...kind of like what the NHL is doing.

It's definitely thrown a wrench into the normal trot to the Nba camps. I don't know how the Nba season will wind up or the dates of the draft, but i guess potentially if the postponed games/season for college drags out, more top guys will opt out.
Houston game off too.

Big questions going forward. Will UC play another game this month? How many games will they play in February? UC’s best bet right now and to stay covid free for the conference tournament with the hope everyone else drops out.
It's almost getting to the point just hose the season. I wish players had more of a say in this. TV contracts won't allow them to have a say unfortunately.

I would think many would rather just focus on strictly making the NBA, school, family, or their friends right now. Preparing day and night for games that aren't being played is such a waste of time.

Seriously. It's a shame conferences have gotten so spread out. We could have played an actual season if done so in some kind of regional bubble with limited travel and a pool of teams to replace cancelled games.

It's really not been fair to the kids. All for the sake of money and TV contracts and not for the game.

Wow. I believe Houston was to be a CBS national telecast too and those come along about once a season anymore for UC in the American.

Lots of unanswered questions now about how many players have been infected and one has to hope that all who have been only experienced mild symptoms, or none at all and we're just witnessing the impact of quarantining playing out.

I keep wondering if Gabe Madsen might reverse course as Dou did and return this year? Or if his departure weeks ago suggests he won't return at all. So much for the brothers playing together.

Who is the "glue" guy on this roster? I fear there isn't one and while there is some promising young talent the situation could unravel too.
I just think UC's not too interested in playing right now. They obviously need some practice.

Covid's the convenient excuse for everything nowdays.

Yes because missing home games vs ECU and Tulane followed by a winnable road game at Temple was exactly what they wanted. Definitely didn’t want to play on CBS this weekend.
Awesome. The teams we are canceling games against are still playing games so this one appears to be on us.

reports are that the team has not even been able to practice much over the past 10 days, but I am sure the conspiracy theory is the more interesting belief here.
On the bright side, every cancelled game is a game that UC can't lose. Brannen not ready for prime time.

I'd rather lose games than this young team not be able to practice together and develop. This is an incredibly inexperienced roster with only 2 players that were here 2 years ago. They need to practice together. They aren't doing so. The way things are this year they are losing a lot of development time.

Also this was a stretch they should have picked up a few wins before Houston.
It has been so bad I have to take a phenergan to watch it. Not terribly upset we are not playing right now. Gives me more time to watch the food network.
I am starting to feel I wasted money on that ESPN+ account.
