Morgan said Monday that the incoming administration is "saying exactly" what the Trump administration and the CBP have been saying since the coronavirus pandemic began about the caravans.
"Now is not the time," Morgan said. "This is dangerous."
And now, there is a combination of "open border advocates" that are organizing the caravans and the cartels and human smugglers that are doing the same thing, "fueling that our borders will be open, exploiting and encouraging this vulnerable population," said Morgan. "Why? To line their own pocketbooks and bank accounts."
Morgan said an estimated 9,000 to 12,000 people have made it through Honduras and "they are halfway through Guatemala right now."
Early Monday the caravan of hundreds of migrants, mostly from Honduras, was stopped on a highway in eastern Guatemala after security forces used sticks and tear gas to keep them from continuing toward the United States.
Meanwhile, Morgan said he's concerned because Biden has said he won't build more on the border wall, and because he has the ability to terminate contracts that have already been awarded.
