I really really like this team 02-13-banana
strong deep roster.
the way i see it, we have a strong rotation of 7 plus 3 up-n coming players
jacobs
nuga
gio
beck
pippen
o'neil
hamilton

other 3
jordan
hernandez
bainbridge

my fave 2 players on the team:
gio - point guard supreme who can knock down the 3 with confidence.
great court awareness
o'neil - i LOVE his game. he is money when going to the hole. confident strong player.

question: with this being a 'free' season, which seniors (if any) will come back for another year?

i LOVE this team 04-cheers
coach sendy: just reloads year after year after year 04-bow

this team team is pretty gosh darn awesome 03-shhhh

So which seniors are coming back:

Pippen ... I'd say the chances he returns are about 25-percent. If he keeps playing strong he'll either try to go pro or perhaps transfer up. The one selling point Kent has to get him back is perhaps moving up on the all-time scoring and rebounding lists. Also, DP is well aware he's coached differently at Kent - he rarely practices - than he likely would be somewhere else. Still, he's already been at Kent five years. Six would be great, but ...

Nuga ... Put this at 50-percent. He's been a big plus and has already transferred once. But two years as the top scoring guard is a nice resume builder for Euro pro basketball.

Beck ... Put this at 50-percent with a *. Beck has had nagging injuries but looks to be getting settled in as a 6-7 small forward. An off-season of individual work plus a full season at the position would be a big plus for Beck and Kent. Considering he is a local (Cleveland) player might be enough for a comeback.
According to Verbal commits TK Smith is transferring out and Sincere Carry a guard from Duquesne who was averaging 9 ppg this year after over 12 the last two years, will be transferring in. Carry appears to be a good passing PG. Over 5 apg his first two years and over 4 this year. Interesting potential at the PG spot the next few years with Carry, Gio, and Sullinger.

The Carry situation seems pretty odd. Seems like he's pretty much been the guy running the show since Dambrot got there but left anyways. I don't know how the rules work this year but I assume he's not allowed to play this year? That would be kinda ridiculous right?

Hmmm...the first line from the article is "Duquesne head basketball coach Keith Dambrot probably thought he’d seen every scenario on a basketball court before this past year-plus." Geez - stuff like his point guard getting busted for mailing pot, players assaulting each other, players assaulting members of the women's team? How could this be worse?

I think we will all really like Sin's game. He makes other's better (see high # of assists) and can score when necessary. As a senior in high school he took his team to D1 title game. missed one of those high school summers that was critical for AAU recruiting with a knee injury and he was under radar guy until that state run when Dambrat and MAC's came calling. Keith i think has stated he had NBA level potential. Don't automatically assume based on his minutes on floor that one is automatically happy. girl friends, friends, family, school dynamic all can play into things.
It'll be interesting to see if we look to fill the other open scholarship with another transfer or wait to see how things work out at the end of the year. Might make a lot of sense to hold on to it for a bit if they think some of the Srs could be coming back.

Normally a mid season transfer is not ideal because they can't play until spring semester next year. This year being a free year, I'm guessing they'll be immediately eligible next year. So snagging another transfer could be beneficial.
Cli'ron Hornbeak's team went up against Emoni Bates, the nation's #1 player in the class of 2022. Hornbeak's team understandably lost by 20+ but he had 22 points. There's some interesting comments about Hornbeak in this article. Bates' team also features a 6'10" 250 lbs center Shawn Phillips with offers from schools like Ohio State, Florida, Auburn and Indiana. From the sounds of it, Hornbeak got the better of Phillips in their head to head matchup.

Watching the CSU Milwaukee game on ESPN2. Gholston has 20 of Milwaukee's 40 points in a 40-40 game with 13 to go.
just noticed that i didn't include jeremiah hernandez in my review/ assessment of the ksu roster. huge oversight!
nice up-n coming player. talented, quick, confident.

I wondered where Gholston ended up.

Speaking of former players, looks like Anthony Roberts is struggling @ St Bonaventure & out indefinitely with personal issues. He has only played in 3 games, no starts, and is shooting .261 from the field & .167 from 3pt.

Looks like Rosel Hurley had a solid career @ St Francis: https://sfcathletics.com/sports/mens-bas...urley/3838

yes and good chance hernandez like many others will end up good elsewhere if you don't throw him a bone as an underglassmen. is there really that much of a difference between him and malique jacobs? when close performance wise i'd rather invest in a 4 year guy v 2 year guy.
I haven't gotten to watch as many games as I would have liked thus far, so a few questions for those who have.

Is VonCameron Davis another BJ Duling, a ton of talent but no position in college game or will he see the floor next year with the graduation of some and development?

Is Evan Bainbridge injured or just getting outplayed by the other forwards as I haven't seen him in much of the box scores lately?

I would have expected James Jordan to get more playing time. When he played did he not stay within the offense or defense?

Looks like it will be an 8 man rotation, unless Jordan, Bainbridge, or Davis can improve.

There are 12 games left on the schedule, unless some get cancelled.

I think VCD will work his way into the lineup next season, much like Hernandez this year. Bainbridge is the big ??? to me. Was supposed to be a stretch 4 but can't hit an outside shot. So unless he moves his game inside don't know if he is much of a fit until Hamilton leaves. Jordan looks to be odd man out after Nuga, Gio, Jacobs, Hernandez. Probably could play more if he had some PG skills.

Remember, all these guys come bak next season as they are now. VCD and Hernandez will be freshmen again. Bainbridge a soph. Jordan/Jacobs juniors. ... The big plus will be addition of a veteran PG (Carry) making Gio either a third gd or a quality backup.

Losing Pippen (???) will have to be accounted for, but if all others return, not a bad unit.
I don't think there is any question mark surrounding Bainbridge. He doesn't seem to have the physical makeup to be an impact player in the Mid American Conference. Could a solid off season or two change that, of course.
