Cream-puff OOC may have inflated some stats but the team can shoot…in 4 CUSA games .535 FG (.427 3s). Evee (CUSA POW Jan 4) and Olivares very dangerous snipers. Thin front line, but Fiedler has been very effective. Rice takes 29.3 3s/g yet attempts 18.1 FTs/g.

Note: ODU website has Sat game @ 2:00 ET while Rice website shows 3:00 ET both days.

They can shoot. Play bad defense.

They aren't a good team but I expect Rice will get hot one game and drain a bunch of 3s and then we blow them out in the other game. :)

They seem a little up and down. You could say the same about us. I have a feeling this will be a split.

Rice can be an odd bunch to work with administratively, plus their coach seems a bit high strung

This should be 2 wins for the Monarchs and we shouldn't care by how much. However and scoring droughts will doom us especially in the last 5 minutes of the game. These are must win games is we want to contend in CUSA.

I’m usually more optimistic, but I haven’t seen anything yet from this team that makes me think they are a contender. I hope you are right, but I’m expecting a split.

Fiedler will be a match-up problem for the Monarchs. He's very mobile...he draws his defender out from the paint and can both execute the pick and roll or pass to a cutting guard (that's why Rice gets a lot of FTs) or open sniper.

Also, Evee has a super-quick release for 3.

Keys for ODU are constraining 3s (< 10 makes), limiting FT attempts and forcing TOs which turn into points.

It should be illegal for Xavier Green to shoot the basketball. It is pathetic.

I logged on when the time was at 17, we finally saw us get points at 13. Ugh

14-2 run by Rice. Taking long 2s, don’t get it...never will

This team is almost unwatchable. Few teams are so inept at shooting the ball. Yet another game I have to turn off early. This is getting very bad.

ODU hasn’t had one player that can hit shots like that or even got hot like that since Bazemore. Not having guys that can shoot when the entire sport is now predicated on it is beyond frustrating
