On TK’s Radio Show tonight he made the following comments:

•Talked about the key to their better team defensive play is the result of better communication, i.e. being connected. He said playing with a smaller lineup they have had to change their defensive philosophy to switch on every screen and more doubling down in the post.

•He said he got a lot of positive messages from coaching friends around the country about how well they played in their national televised game against Ohio.

*He made an interesting point that a team's success is based on playing your best players, not just going with a traditional lineup of 2 guards, 2 forwards and a center. He called it a "positionless" lineup which a lot of high school and pro teams play. He didn't say it, but that might be the reason why both Marenka and Komagum have not gotten much playing time since they've gone to this 7 man lineup.

•He said that other than the Kent Game, they have done a very good job of rebounding against bigger teams and specifically mentioned Milner, Shumate and the guards as keys to that continuing.

•He said the key to beating EMU tomorrow night is excellent ball movement against their zone with no lazy passes and obviously hitting open shots from the perimeter.

•He continued to rave about incoming recruits Elijah Wilson and and Cooper Jacoby and said they are both having great seasons. He also said they are looking at possibly adding someone else as well for next season but didn’t go into any more details.
I will give credit where credit is due. I think Coach K and his assitants are doing the best job possible in keeping these ball players safe from covid and mixing and matching in games with their coaching philosophy. BRAVO !!!!! now its time for Coach Cullop and her assistants to get on board with their team, coaching better or getting athletes to compete with CMU, Ohio, Ball state teams.

Please make it a banging PF.

I think Jacobi will end up being around 225 lb at 6'6" and keep his high motor and athletic ability. Wilson I haven't seen much of on tape, but sounds like he maybe skilled like Rollins. I would take a 6'8" PF like JC Harris was for sure as an addition.
Since nothing was mentioned about a midyear transfer this year, I would assume that the team is now set and Coach K stays with the same 7 man rotation. It has worked pretty good so far so maybe it is best for the team to not reinvent itself once again.
Playing position-less basketball and best 7 is awesome.

It's also done frequently at D3 and NAIA.

Play your best players....so simple.

Let's hope the good play continues.

This team is tough, scrappy, plays D, passes well, and shoots well. DAMN !!!

Go Rockets!
And can't asked for more at this point.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m as pleased as anyone with how well this season has gone so far, particularly after the loss of Edu (again). Much credit to the team & staff for getting to this point.

I just think the lack of a “true” in-the-paint presence will be an issue for a game or two yet to come, and that might be the only barrier to a trip to the dance. Love the effort; would just like to see that missing piece, darn it.
8 and 9 have to play once in awhile to make them useful in MAC tourney which is where we always fall flat
