One more win than the ACC or Pac 12.
Down year for the american. They will never be a p5 unless they go for a coup and try and court a school like I don't know like let's say West Virginia. You can say they will never leave big 12 money, but aac should kick the tires and maybe pony up because I know they hate sending non revenue sports thousands of miles when they would fit perfect in the american footprint and if they could land a fish like this and let's say take a visit to atlanta and see about a contract with TNT. Maybe a pipe dream but if they want to be in the cool club they need to make their party interesting to the big boys. Turn the table on them and you might not see all your schools wanting to leave. Just saying
I wouldn't put too much stock in anything from the 2020 season.
I see AAC Derangement Syndrome is still in effect. Pathetic..

Blame Aresco and his baseless claims.

I don't recall anyone thinking WVU would not jump at a chance to leave the Big 12, but other than Cincinnati and possibly Temple, i don't see any reason to do so.

The travel distances don't really favor the American unless they have some regional scheduling in some sports.

Why is the AAC the only league mentioned in the title?
Is it supposed to prove something that the bigger brothers beat the smaller brothers?

I wonder what might happen if the AAC had anywhere close to the same financial resources as the P5.

To be fair, the P5 has earned their power. But the current system prevents anyone else from earning it too.
The American had a very bad showing collectively in the bowls. No need to sugarcoat it.

The ACC and CUSA had much worse results. Pac had a worse % result, but only played 2 games.

OP is a MWC school fan; Aresco hurt his feeling with the P6 campaign.

Yes the AAC had a disappointing bowl season. This dude wants to call out Cincinnati-- hell, they were 6.5 point dogs in that one and experts were saying they couldn't keep up with the superior speed and skill of the Bulldogs. I think they held up just fine-- disappointed they lost, but the Bearcats took it to the Bulldogs. Georgia fans are being much classier on their boards than this guy (Nevada fan?--- seriously).

I believe he’s an NC State fan. One of his first posts on this site is on the ACC board.

If he is it is even worse considering the ACC just went 0-6 in their bowls... glass houses or something like that.

I believe for the most part this year will be remembered as a throw away year. Those that performed well are in the record books and have momentum going into next season. Those that under performed this year will get a pass and have an opportunity to make adjustments going into next season.

Agree overall.
2020 may be an aberrant year from which we should be wary of drawing conclusions. That being said, I am concerned that it may have as a lasting effect the normalization of "opting out" of post season play. Initially, players needed excuses for such actions, and 2020 gave us those in spades. But gradually, the need for an excuse other than "I just don't want to" tends to take over.

If the teams that play in the bowls aren't the same as the ones that played during the regular season, those games become more than ever just something for us to fill our holiday downtime with. I'm not sure we'll ever see fans return to bowls in person in anything like the kind of numbers that made them special events in the past.

And the very existence of a playoff just exaggerates that trend.

Coastal Carolina is that you? Bless your soul.

Well the Cincy coach and QB forgot about clock management the last 4 minutes. That cost them a win over one of the 4 most talented teams in the country. Otherwise, time would have run out before Georgia could score at the end.
