It was an amazing catch.
It was made even better after the replay honcho flatly stated it would be ruled an incompletion!
Made even better by being pass interference.

That I'd bet they weren't going to call if it had been incomplete.

It might not have been a catch. The replay booth was probably so embarrassed at how bad those idiot officials were, that they gave it to us out of pity. They were staring at a defensive back not looking at the ball, with his arm around our receiver.

The replay rules commentator missed every call that went to the both.

Sure hope that guy is never in the replay booth for any AAC games.
Did I hear the announcer say that was an AAC officiating crew?
anybody have a link

I was surprised at the number of calls that went our way. Not sure that was a catch either.

What calls that went our way? Hell they could have thrown a personal flag after every play on them in the first half.

The catch and the targeting that was overruled come to mind.

They owed us for Joey who caught it.

I thought Joey's was closer to a catch. Washington's catch replay showed the ball hit the ground.

Definitely and much, much higher stakes. They’ll never repay that debt, but I’ll accept them throwing us a bone here and there.

He was a joke. I bet he lost his paying gig after that performance.

The catch was questionable to be sure. But here's the fact so many get confused on. The ball can hit the ground - as long as it's determined that the receiver had complete possession of it (before and after). In this case, the ball clearly hit the ground. Was there a bobble afterwards? Replay was inconclusive so the call on the field had to stand.

The targeting was called on the wrong player. I can't recall now who the 2 Memphis guys were. But the refs called it on the 2nd guy and, IMO, his hit was clearly NOT targeting. However, the first hit could have easily been targeting. Replay did what they were supposed to do. Not call it on the 2nd guy, and they could not go back and call it on the 1st guy.

I think the difference was not that we had calls go our way. FAU should have been flagged for at least 4 personal fouls that did not get called. And I still don't have a good explanation for the one on Silverfield - especially in light of the antics Willie was performing. But the difference was we are so used to getting hosed on replay calls, and we didn't.

This was my point.

I don't think it was a catch but it was a definite pass interference and how they could miss it when our receiver is having to go back and through their DB who is diving and doesn't have his head turned is mind-boggling.
