I wish the Sunbelt could find room for USM. Probably no chance though due to our turmoil in the past 4-5yrs although thats going to be fixed asap.

How about you join the sun belt west teams along with all your division ? The east could then take app state , charleston southern , georgia southern georgia state etc. I'd be fine with that

Also southern miss doesn't really have the right to talk on this. They've been one of the main culprits in football being down in cusa

It's sucked since 2005 so no surprise here. And yes, UTEP is part of the problem since the 2.0 days.
After 2.5 bowl games, CUSA teams have been out scored 112-31.
It all starts in the front office of the Commissioner. That is what makes this conference a joke. Fix the front office with some resemblance of leadership and it will thrive again.

Really? You really think the front office has anything to do with the football UNT, Tech and FAU has played? Or the egg Marshall laid over their last two games? Or the fact Western has one of the bottom 3 qbs in FBS and cant score? Or the fact Rice and UTEP probably havent won 10 games between them over the last 4 years? Fill in the blank and add a CUSA school and the CUSA front office had ZERO to do with what college football fans have seen this bowl season.

It probably doesnt improve much through the other 3 games CUSA will play.

That seems to be the general consensus among SBC fans....USM would be the choice if the SBC could add a team.

You’re getting out over your skis.

Yeah I know most UL fans would welcome this. Potential for a good rivalry.
Would the Belt welcome UAB back?

As much as I hate UAB... Yes.
In a minute. UAB and GaSt would be some damn fun basketball
It depends on how many members the sunbelt would let in. We are fine at 10 at the moment. I do think if TxSt ever decides to join their Texas brethren, USM would be in the footprint and the perfect school to replace them. USM would please most if not all of the Sunbelt. If the belt moved up to 12, you will have to appease the sunbelt east schools as well. GS, App, and Coastal are all closely connected in their conference decision making. An eastern and western school would likely be added.
What do the former Sun Belt schools think about leaving the Sun Belt now?

03-shhhh 03-shhhh 03-shhhh 03-shhhh 03-shhhh

We should have a separate thread about that. With GIFs to illustrate how each program feels about it, LOL
The CUSA if as quoted sucks in football because the teams in it are mostly bad. I don't follow how changing conferences will make them better. I sincerely doubt that any CUSA school administration would support a move to the SunBelt. Look at academics, total sports programs, resources, etc.

Also the 2 head to head bowls played matched an 8-3 App St vs 4-5 NT, 7-5 Ga So vs 5-4 La Tech

There is also the coronavirus effect that can't be overlooked. The Belt to their credit had little disruption because of cancelled games. Before anyone states that the virus affects everyone, yes; but not the same. NT played without about a third of their starters out, I looked and didn't find any App St starters out. I think La Tech had several opt out the whole season.

Regional conferences are another topic. It does not appear that anything is being done to accomplish this goal.
