This morning's paper listed all the bowl games. C-USA has 7 teams in bowl games and 6 are on ABC or ESPN. Being a part of the league, I wonder if we get any of that TV money?
I’m not sure if we forfeited our share of it by sitting out but the league gets a check for their share of the CFP group of 5 pool. According to the following article, the 2019 payout for CUSA last year was $15.5 million and that is evenly distributed among the league.

I would imagine fielding a team is a contingency. Did UAB get bowl money for the season they opted out of?

I wouldn't consider that opting out. They disbanded the team completely. But I would think having a team would be a contingency.
The CUSA bowl money distribution is after all expenses and with the bowls we're in as a league, the payout doesn't end up being much.
Might be better this year with reduced numbers of tickets,
Better question is will we get our cut of the TV money? I would imagine that’s a no.

To expect $$ is somewhat brash. Decisions have consequences. ODU made a decision, right or wrong, and must live with the consequences. Without risk there should be no expectation of reward.
