The Dukes get back in the saddle and play at ECU tomorrow. 02-13-banana Should be a winnable game as home court advantage is minimized this year in front of few fans. The pirates are coming off of a 15 point loss to SMU.

In a strange development, JMU just signed another game for Sunday at home against Alice Lloyd college??? Very weird.
Coach By admits he has given up on winning OOC meaningful games and he is worried his team won’t be ready for the CAA Season. He is still looking for a game after Christmas but before New Year’s when they play Towson to kick off the CAA regular season.

We didn’t really learn much about the team in 3 games. Maybe tomorrow gives us something to believe in.
Alice Lloyd College is a private work college in Pippa Passes, KY.

Enrollment, 644.
Watching the game at ECU and really appreciating how nice our facility looks on tv in comparison!

Not a single person talking about this game. Amazing.

Last update we’re down 8 at the half to an EZU squad.

The excitement is palpable...
Too many turnovers.
Can’t shoot 3’s.
Lewis drives and they seal him off before he can get near the rim, but his passing is suspect today. Or his teammates are standing and watching.
Not sure what Christmas does well.
Amadi and Edwards play with energy.
Offense...well doesn’t look like an offense. 2-15 from 3 many of them mediocre looks.
No sign of Fredericks or Taylor
Refs are meh/mediocre but it is college basketball.
Amadi is big and has a motor.

Strickland has some good moments as the primary ball handler.
Shot discipline is lacking. It looks as if Coach By is having open tryouts and is going to let them play through sloppy decisions. Hopefully, he refines a rotation by CAA season and has some sense of organization role definitions on the court.
Lol these charges are an absolute joke

The one ref must have a quota on how many against JMU he needs to call
There are some great pieces here but we look gassed
Not looking like the Dukes are going to have a chance down the stretch. ECU has controlled the game with a double digit margin most of the time.

JMU has just as many problems on defense as on offense. Small guards are constantly getting stuck defending bigger players in the paint and it is no match. Not many positives from today so far.
They lack of practice and court time is showing up big. I still feel good about this team. They play hard especially on the defensive end and there is some nice talent to be developed.
I’m fine with this game.

There’s a ton of reasons to be patient with this team.

Glad they pay tomorrow.

Let’s see where we are mid Feb.
Kind of expected this one after not playing for three weeks. I’m feeling better about this team than I have for awhile - and even more so for the future
basketball is tough game to play when you have to take a lot of days off due to pause for covid. Team looked sloppy as to be expected.

Not sure what to expect going forward
Yep, I don’t think we know much at all about the team after 4 games. There are no do-overs though and the wins and losses count.

Still no Fredericks. Something is obviously wrong without any insight to indicate why he has not seen the floor.
Coach By played 12 guys today, throwing TJ Taylor out there for 2 garbage minutes at the end. That seems strange too and I know Mettlen wrote an article about it, but he is one of 5 D-1 transfers coach By handpicked and he started for Wyoming yet is not a part of the guys getting a chance to prove themselves in OOC.

I hope the Dukes are Fired up for Alice Lloyd tomorrow. If she doesn’t bring her 4 sisters to play the Dukes should have a great chance to win. Alice Lloyd. 03-lmfao This is another college I have never heard of in my life. Bizarro world.
Obviously the lack of practice and games has created some challenges but continue to like How active Amadi is and Strickland’s speed. Obviously Christmas still looks a little lost out there. Matt did a nice job getting to the basket and Hodge looks promising as a 3 point shooter which this team really needs.

The Ghost of Terry Holland Wrote: Greetings to the JMU Nation,

I'm looking forward to our matchup in Collegiate tackle football on September 2nd. Unfortunately, your administration has failed to take the bull by the horns and your football program remains mired in FCS cost containment. It truly is a shame that JMU has elected to stay behind while many less capable programs have moved into FBS with quick success. While it has been a few years since I directly pulled the strings with movers and shakers in the NCAA, I still get involved on key strategy decisions as the AD emeritus here at ECU. Your very own alumnus is my protege and you may choose to thank me later when you see the results of this seemingly innocent matchup between FCS and FBS programs. We did not have to do this for you and are assuming some risk by offering the guarantee game.

It will be Jon Boy Alger's first trip to Greenville so we have some special plans set for our interaction. Is it possible to get a brick wall to understand the importance of FBS football to enhanced donations and involvement from Alumni? That will be our goal since we need additional allies to attain enough critical mass for a new East Coast conference that is mutually beneficial. Please do two things for me, 1- stop by and visit prior to the game 2- encourage Jon Boy Alger to act like a president with vision and not a 5th grade nerd who gets his lunch money taken daily. It is beyond my comprehension how he has failed to guide your football program into FBS. It reminds me of an old adage I used as a coach saying that there is nothing worse than an athlete who wastes his talent. JMU is wasting its talent by remaining in lower-tier football.

Good Luck to JMU after the Sept 2nd game is finished. Until that time I trust that your fan base will show Jon Boy Alger the type of engagement JMU could be experiencing on a weekly basis if it was scheduling all FBS opponents instead of just one annually.

Fact - the Purple & Gold will be victorious.
Your buddy,
Terry Holland
I think we will crush Alice Lloyd College. Just a good feeling about this upcoming game. I know we can do it!
