Two non-team related thoughts:
1. Buffalo is weird. They didn't allow a single sack all season. They are a one-man team.
2. WTF on no turnover stats? Do turnovers not matter anymore?
Buffalo didnt allow a single sack all season because one word, Patterson.
My take? We have a really good MAC offense. Kent State has a quirky system. Buffalo has one elite running back. But we need to be better on third down. We're only going to get better if Eleby continues improving, with plenty of weapons, as long as we replace our graduating linemen after next season. I'll say we had the #3 offense in the MAC behind Kent State and Jarrett Paterson.

We have an average MAC defense with injured DEs. With healthy DEs, I think we have a good MAC defense. Had we just a few more turnovers, the scoring rank would probably match the yardage ranks. I'll say we had the #6 defense in the MAC.

#3 and #4 are good, and we have a lot of good rankings, but only one #1 and no #2 (probably one more if I had turnover stats). We need some more #1 rankings here to be #1 in the MAC. Loads of #3s and #4s get us to #3 or #4 in the conference.
So despite finishing 2nd in the division, about average

That we allowed 34 points per game and ranked right in the middle of the conference demonstrates how tight defenses are hard to come by in the MAC.

Driven largely by NIU making four 4th downs in the first half of that game.

Gutiest gameplan I’ve ever seen and the bastards almost made it work, until they stopped throwing the dice.
Some of these stats are going to be skewed based on whether or not a team played Jarrett Patterson lol
