The Lady Dukes head over the mountains today to Morgantown WV to face the Mountaineers. WVU coming off a 20 point loss to #2 ranked Baylor so this should be a tough game today. The Dukes will have to be on top of their game and avoid a slow start to rack up the win.

Not sure what, if any, TV viewing options there are. Think the game might be on ESPN3 or ESPN+ but not sure. Anyone know?

Go Dukes!!

Brian
It'll be a real good win. If we pull it off though, not sure our girls would consider it an upset. Go Dukes!!
Game will be streamed live via ESPN+ for those with a subscription.

This will be an excellent test for the Good Gals in purple.
Can't get the ESPN+ feed to work. Not sure if I'm alone. JMU is way behind early so maybe better off I dunno.
Dukes down 50-24 at the half. Bunches of Dukes in bad foul trouble just getting outplayed all around tonight. See what the second half brings.

Maddie Green not with the team tonight due to a death in the family. Thoughts and prayers out to her and her family.

Go Dukes!!

Brian
Now 63-29. Women are in a 4+ minute scoring drought and shooting around 27%.
85-54 final. Dukes looked just plain awful for the majority of the game. Shots were not falling and three point shooting was horrid. I actually turned the game off at the start of the 4th quarter as it was just so bad, only the second time I have ever not watched a JMU event to the end. Hopefully this weeks practice will get the team back in sync and ready to face Maryland next Saturday.

Go Dukes!!

Brian
Curious, what was the first JMU game you’ve turned off before the end Brian?
It seems to me that the poor showing (both against Buffalo and WVU) is a sign of the team’s youth. While there is some experience on the team, it really is a team with 4 new starters plus Kiki.

Bottom line, youth = inconsistency. The future looks extraordinarily promising, but the women need to get past the mental mistakes and nerves.

I agree. Combine 2020 with all the new pieces on this team and I honestly expected this year to be more of a struggle than we've seen.
Games like last night are going to happen with this team. Some nights they are going to look incredible and some nights... not so much.
Rough outing. I am stretching the limits of my brain to recall the last time JMU had 2 OOC games against unranked opponents (in the same season) AND were out of both by halftime.
Hope we hang closer with UMD.

Wife and I were at the New Hampshire football game in I think 2018 in NH. Absolutely terrible day, cold, rain pouring down and Ben and Cole threw about a bazillion picks. Wife and I left towards the end of the 3rd quarter due to the bad game, rain, cold and a long ride back to VA. Only other game I have left early/turned off early besides yesterday. Even watched the Buffalo game to the end. Yesterday just looked awful.

Ooh what a horrible game to be traveling. Felt the same way up at Colgate when the coaching staff was more focused on Charlotte/ECU.
They will have growing pains this year for sure. Fully expect these CAA doubleheader’s to have one lopsided victory and another close win/loss depending on the team. Also hoping we can play better against Maryland but not sure the young bucks are ready for that kind of pressure/big time game.

This team would probably have to win the CAA tourney to make it to the big dance-we will probably have a couple of CAA losses by the end of the year...Drexel, Towson, and Elon are all going to be very good.
I'm extremely happy they played the game. I think the size and speed of WVU really caught them off-guard. They were never in the game. Was like women versus the girls. That was a great learning experience. This team is young with a lot of talent, and potential, but hopefully will be much improved come March.

I expect UMD to be better than WVU, but hopefully we play better on Saturday, and perhaps UMD is not as sharp WVU.

These are two beneficial game leading into league play. We obviously are not currently at-large caliber, but hopefully that will not be the case next December. I still think we have as good a shot as anyone in the CAA come March.
19% 3 point shooting, 30% overall. That does not work well. Bright spot was 19 points off TOs, which means they were forcing some turnovers. I'd say Coach has work to do this week before Maryland.... I could not get the game, but it sounds like they might have been forcing shots, which is the mark of a young team. They should grow over the season. And both Peyton and Bri Tinsley had 14, so someone was making shots anyway.
Congrats to Peyton McDaniel for winning CAA Rookie of the Week honors.
Maryland won by 4 on the road at a solid Rutgers team tonight in a high-scoring affair, 91-87. The game was tied at the half and at the end of the 3Q. This moves the Twerps to 4-1 on the season. The UMD official athletics site still hasn't posted a game time for Saturday's game yet as of 8pmET tonight.

Hoping there will be a way to watch the game.
