In men’s hoops.

Time to see what we really got here.

Edit: game will be broadcast on nbc sports Washington.
ODU just played them. Were down by 13 at half and lost by 18. I'd take that level of performance right now.

This is a great add. The 250 fans will be going nutz. Just like the last few years at the Convo.

OBVIOUSLY, I don't expect us to win, or even make it a nail biter, but I do think this experience will be good for the team. I think Men's and Women's basketball should play a couple of these games a year against top 20 competition.

Nice coverage in the DC area as well.

Dec 5 - weird how you remember certain dates. I think that was a home game versus WVU where David Fanning went off and we beat WVU.

Maybe we didn't win, but too lazy to check. Must of been about 15 years ago.
So we basically replaced Virginia (or Carolina U) with Maryland? And the game will be on linear TV? Sucks we can't have fans in the arena, but this is great! Good job getting this scheduled.
Read where Maryland hosts Mason the night before and then travels to the Burg to play us the next day. Could this setup for a Va Tech (short week after their Boise game) like upset?
Nice. Everything about this is nice.
super nice.

would love to see us beat the snot out of the terps, so much so paul lewis decommits and pledges his unwavering commitment to coach byington.

Also, I liked (still like) Brady. He had perhaps the biggest missed opportunity in JMU sports history in nation, cooke and curry. Had he made that work, he may still be coaching at JMU.

Did you just compare Boise football to the current state of GMU basketball? 03-lmfao

Slight difference 04-cheers
Awesome! Great get for a home game. Hope we don’t get crushed but should be fun to watch
Things just got a lot more interesting! And bizarre that MD is playing the day before against Mason, like 97 pointed out.
Interesting how UMD, ODU, Mason, and JMU all play the other three within 2 weeks and it's not even a tournament.
Whomever got this game done, great job...something to look forward to sat. No complaints from me on the score as long as we fight buzzer to buzzer
Real preliminary scouting report on Maryland. As you would expect this will be a very tall order. They have good size and experience - while it may not be their best team in recent years I’d be surprised if they weren’t ranked and a tournament team by seasons end.

I think the challenge for Saturday may be our freshmen. On one hand they may not be as intimidated by the moment since they may not know any better but all 3 have size issues in terms of matchups vs an experienced Big 10 team( Strickland - height, Amadi- height, Edwards - slender). Morse is also undersized at guard and we’ll automatically go into a game like this outsized up front.

A week of practice and hopefully Christmas is in better shape/flow, and Frederick is available.
Be great to showcase the new arena.

Good measuring stick for the guys too, hope they’re amped for this game.

Has anyone seen/posted a time yet?

i wonder how we got them to come to us? maybe they want a road win? return game at xfinity next year? does it even work that way this year?

Brady wants to stomp on the dukes on our home floor?

2001. Freshman year. Mid-week game.

WVU had a highly touted kid from Richmond, Jonathan Hargett, that Fanning outplayed. Convo was loud that night. Dukes came close to 100.

I was speculating on the same thing. Maybe a prep for playing road game with minimal fans. Also a road win. Also maybe even same day road trip.

This is a fairly minor road game, close, and a program picking itself up off the ground, that will show the game to the local region.

Win - win for both programs.

Lol

I’ll go with the latter.

Slightly OT, but anyone know why the GMCC game is listed as Richmond? Central locale for both teams? Coliseum? Or are we borrowing Siegel ctr?
