Never had Mezeh. Do they have them in the DMV? Def a fan of mezze bowls.

locations on the website link above. Lots in Nova and MD. One in Hampton, Richmond, Charlottesville, Raleigh

Never had Mezeh before, but Cava is great. Roti is another chain that is similar, but not as good IMO.
ODU released some renderings and details about the new volleyball facility.

I am so excited about this. I wish I lived closer so I could attend games. I hope they will live stream games

Looks like it will be a nice venue. Will they also have wrestling matches there? I notice they kept the hoops in their, so it will be multi-propose.

The facility is not intended to be multi-purpose and wrestling will continue to have matches at the Ted (practice facility will remain adjacent to the new volleyball facility). My understanding is the decision was made to leave the basketball goals, because they will not be in the way and it leaves flexibility for work in other facilities (rec center and actual basketball practice facility). It will be very nice and volleyball at ODU is going to be huge!

Correct, Ted will continue to host most of the wrestling matches, but they will use the volleyball facility as a secondary location. You're correct regarding the basketball goals. It maintains flexibility with different events (i.e. summer camps/rec sports/etc.).

Also, Chow will become The Coach House. A high-end restaurant from one of the cooks at No Frill. Goes to city planning in August and city council in September.

For anyone else who is on mobile and had trouble like I did, here are a few pictures. Though I think it's worth to take a look at them all, some pretty good renderings in there.

The state has awarded the city of Norfolk a grant of $250k to go towards this project;

Give Equinox a try

I have had it once while waiting for an order from Cagney's. Pretty good. Just wish the parking situation was better.
Yeah, last I checked they were demolishing a house across the street to turn it into parking for them. Maybe I'll do some research this afternoon and see how it's going

Well this is convenient.

Did the Panera open? I thought that was going where Borjo was.
I wonder if that means Equinox is abandoning their spot in park place then?

yes it is open...service is so slow. I waited 25 minutes for a cup of coffee. Sad...

It opened next to Raising Canes where the POD market was. They moved the POD market to the bookstore and Panera moved in.

Doesn't sound like it from the article. But that location is a tough spot for a coffee shop.

Yeah. They have more parking now but it's not too obvious. Would be nice to get that area of Colley improved.

I know there have been plans submitted to fix up that building on the block next to it but I think they're waiting to sign leases to do it. So it could be a while before it gets renovated. The plans are nice though.

IMO if you're opening a coffee shop on that stretch of Colley, you should be on the other side of the road. Most people who are going to buy coffee will do it in the morning on the way to work. And the majority will be traveling southbound. Not many are going to make that awkward left turn.

Good point. Those buildings look rough, surprised they won't just get demolished and start over.

They might be old enough to qualify for historic tax credits. Not sure.
