The statistics show, clearly, that America is rapidly nearing the peak of the Covid pandemic.

So, please, note - - both for your own safety and to help protect the lives of others - - that in order to prevent infection with Covid, the mask must always cover the entire nose - - not just the mouth.

Everywhere we go, and on news broadcasts showing everyday people wearing masks, we see people who are wearing masks that aren't big enough for their face, don't fit properly, or keep slipping off the nose.

This is one of the reasons why so many people are becoming infected, including some of those who are wearing masks, as they know they should, in public places.

If any air at all can come around the sides of the nose, through the top of the mask, with other people in the area, a person is very much at risk for a Covid infection, even if they are wearing a mask the whole time.

The reason is that any unfiltered air can easily contain the virus, and as little as one single breath of virus in the air can cause a severe infection.

Please remember this and pass it along to others, because it can help to save lives.

It's also very important for people to wear the mask consistently - all the time - when they are out in public, where they could catch Covid through the air from others.

It's best to think of Covid protection the same way that you would think of working around extremely dangerous toxic fumes, or being in a wartime situation during a chemical or bio. weapons attack. It does little good to filter just 90% of the fumes out, because it can be so dangerous to inhale even a small amount.

It does relatively little good for a person to wear a mask if it's only covering their nose or mouth, or if they keep taking it off and putting it back on. To be effective, it has to be worn the whole time in shared areas, when other people are around. Wearing it only part of the time could easily take the life of someone you care about.

Please pass it on. Your words may help to save a life!

Thank you! 04-cheers
I have seen videos of young people including athletes do not cover their nose. The Denver Broncos played with no starting QBs today. This could be why many games are being canceled. There are now many calls for both pro and college football to stop playing for the rest of the season by former players of both. Our hospitals are overrun right now by covid-19 patients, and don't have room for other patients like heartattacks and all that.
I’ve been to 4 FB games:

UAB - 12k/72k (1/6)
MTSU - 7k/28k (1/4)
Marshall - 12k/36k (1/3)
ArkSt - 4k/30k (1/8)

First 3 sold out, not sure on ArkSt.

UAB’s stadium size was perfect for a pandemic with empty sections if you so choose. Fan interest was high with packed lines for walk-ups.

MTSU towed the line perfectly on being distanced but still feeling like you had a crowd.

Marshall felt packed, even at 1/3 capacity. Felt like a normal FBS game environment.

ArkSt was the emptiest non-MAC game I’ve ever attended. Sections of a few dozen rows on the visitors side empty. I got the sense fans aren’t happy and decided not to attend.

I’d say about 50% wore masks in the stands at all 4 venues. It was easy to avoid people at UAB/MTSU/ArkSt — Marshall felt like people were everywhere in the stands and concourses.

I didn’t catch COVID at any of the games and am glad I went.
liked the mask that the Richmond coach wore today

Why do you keep talking???? Does no one pay attention to you on Twitter??
Thanks, Karen. Masks are a joke. Watch the number of players and coaches pulling them down with their hands from their noses. And then high five or shake another’s hand. The particulates in the Wu Flu are small enough to get through most masks. It’s all for show.

We should have let all college students get exposed. The last death rate I saw for the college population was .02%. Not 2% but .02%. And now, instead of exposing them all in September, we’ll spread it out and be under constant tyranny by you effing Karens.

Out of several hundred acquaintances, coworkers and family members, two have gotten it and both recovered in days. I have no problem with different requirements for the at risk populations, but f u and your mandates, Karen.
And what does this have to do with conference realignment?

I don't know anyone who has had it. How many injuries have the masks caused by people tripping over things they can't see because their glasses are fogged over.

Then you've got all the morons driving around in their cars alone with a mask on. Jeesh! I asked a woman why she was doing that and it she told me "its still safer to wear it, just in case." In case of what??? I guess, its probably safer to wear a condom when I go to the mailbox too, but how much???
Wrong forum. I wear a mask because it is the law in my state . But they are not a magic panacea.

Public conditioning is in full swing.

Peak? This ain't the peak yet. January will likely be worse and California (who has a mask mandate) cases are surging.
It's funny how it's now... allegedly... spreading worse than it was before back when no one was wearing masks.

But the... alleged ... massive spread now is because of only a few people not wearing masks.

Can one of you maskies please explain how it spreads worse when most people are wearing masks than when no one was wearing masks???

That's alright, I'll just say it for you... OH JUST SHUT UP AND WEAR YOUR MASK!!
I challenge anyone to prove masks are 100% effective. The infectious droplets that spread Covid are one third the size of the holes in a mask. They do nothing but provide the wearer a false sense of security.

So yes wear your mask. Just don’t believe you can’t still contract Covid. The best way to avoid the virus is to stay home, by yourself, or only with those that stay at home all the time as well.

If you can’t stay home, make sure to social distance everywhere you go.

Again I would have much more respect for the CDC, Dr. Fauci, and the rest of the clown show in DC and Atlanta, if they would just be open and honest with the public.

Using a pandemic to stoke the fears of the Nation is reprehensible.
On the rare occasions I wear one, and that's rapidly becoming more and more rare (hardly anywhere in the Sip requires one anymore), I never cover my nose. F that. I can't breath in the stupid things. You wear YOUR mask and cover YOUR nose and stay the F away from me and you're safe Karen.
Masks were the way they convinced people it's okay to come out after the extreme lockdowns March-July, & the way they keep 'essential' workers feel safe.

Fauci was very late in recommending them.

I do think they help to some extent, but I'm not sure it's that much. I've seen people compare it to wearing a seatbelt & no way in hell

Nothing is 100 percent effective.

N95 masks without a vent are intended to protect the wearer, and the people around them. These masks are fundamentally similar to the masks worn as PPE by healthcare professionals. For them to be effective as PPE you can’t have a beard, need a good seal.

Cloth and surgical masks of the type the general public are being asked to wear are primarily effective as source control. While it is true that the virus is smaller than the mask weave, you expel the virus primarily is respiratory droplets that can be various sizes. Masks limit the distance respiratory droplets travel when you sneeze, cough, breath, etc. Masks worn completely over the nose and mouth can reduce the transmission from infected people during the incubation period where they don’t know they are infected or if they are asymptomatic. Obviously once you know you are infected you should isolate.

This is what you get with someone who gets all their information from CNN.
Anyone else notice that the usual flu season that starts in October is unbelievably silent while Covid cases spike?
That article in the thread about CA going to extreme lockdown again in certain places I believe said San Francisco or LA hospitals overwhelmed

EDIT: Apparently it's Sacramento. Go figure it's in one of the strictest COVID states, one that's harsher than others on masks.

EDIT 2: They're reporting it's 8% of hospital beds tho lol
