NSU is 2-0 and coming off a road win at JMU. This game is going to be a dogfight.
Clearly a must-win.
Any internet link to the game for out of towners?
Norfolk State is 2-0 beating Radford and JMU.

They have shot the ball really well from 3 this year which scares me a bit. They played really well vs. JMU.

That's right. I forgot they were playing games back to back days and had Radford today.
The game is Wed 12/2 @8pm. Need a good effort to get this one.
Richmond is beating Kentucky and here we are discussing the need for a good showing to take down NSU. This sucks.

Blaine Taylor was our coach the last time Richmond was in the NCAA Tournament. It's been a LONG drought for them, so much so that two years ago their fans took out billboards to get him fired. Today, they beat Kentucky, and it wasn't a total shocker.

Teams at our level can make a good run for a couple of years. That's where Richmond is now. But, if Chris Mooney was our coach, he would have been gone before this year came to pass.
Blue Ribbon has Richmond at #22 preseason.
Unfortunate that this is the year we lose the Richmond game.
Spartans have two 24 year olds plus a 23 year old starting and that experience is paying off. For sure they will be tough in Echols Arena.
Meh. Without any of the normal tune-up games, I dont think Richmond's early season win is as impressive as in years outside of 2020. Actually, I'd be way more impressed if they achieved this win later in the year. It's a fluky win in a fluky start to this season in 2020.
I thought we were discussing NSU?? We're not in Richmond's class! I remember when we wouldn't schedule NSU because they were not good enough for us! My how times have changed. NSU 76 ODU 67

ODU leads the series against Richmond 33-27 and we have split the last 10 games 5-5. But to your point, it seems both of our nemesis in the capital city have momentum at the moment. Man, Id love to see what we could do in the A10.
Richmond is a pretty good team and getting to play them early may have had its advantages. Kentucky has an entirely new team. They will improve as the season goes on. This is Richmonds year to shine. 4 legitimate seniors. 3 juniors. Hope they do well.

and we have 4 seniors and 5 juniors when do we shine?

That’s what I’ve been saying. This is our year. If JJ can’t make something special happen with this experienced group of his players, with this many upperclassmen, then it’s time to just accept he’s not the guy to take us back to glory. This should be a top 100 if not top 50 team. I was hoping for even better than that. But here we are, worried about losing to NSU while UR fares well against KY and we get out butt kicked by MD. It’s just one loss, and there’s still plenty of season left. But it’s time to make something happen and this should be the team to do it. No excuses.

Shouldn’t the same have been true for ODU vs MD?
