Lmfao. How bad was the "abuse"? Were they giving him death threats or something?

I feel like this is another example of social media making one feel self important...

Feinstein was self-important before social media.
Feinstein vaulted to fame through deception and has cemented his unsavory character through the decades. I find him deplorable and wish he would enter a permanent comfortable retirement.
It wasn't anything even that bad. Hell, he even blocked our beat writer. Lol.

Because that's relevant to UH men's basketball. lmao
I think its funny as hell. Doesnt this guy write sports articles where he criticizes coaches, players, and schools for the moves and decisions they make? Heck, looking at his twitter he's got a bunch of political rants on there....so I guess he's an expert on government as well. He certainly seems more than capable of dishing out criticism...honestly, it seems like he's kinda being a sniveling little princess about the whole thing.

Yup. The guy appears to be a total loser to me.

A little context - Feinstein has remained engaged with Army and Navy since he embedded with both teams in the '95 season for "A Civil War." He did Navy football radio color for years and still has a relationship with Army - writes for Army West Point online and I think does radio spots for them.

His Navy radio most memorable moment was dropping a F-bomb on air in 2005 or so. He left Navy radio in a huff because he had proposed a documentary and then we went with someone else.

He has continued to ride the 1995 experience as if nothing has changed since then, and rejects any opinions of those who have followed Navy football since then. He has long been a thin-skinned prima donna, and I suspect he has blocked more people on Twitter than have ever followed him.

And I say all that, I still generally like him and his takes on service academy football. He's had some great access to monumental personalities in sports and his ancedotes can be great. I enjoyed the one time I got to chat with him for a little while on Army-Navy Radio Row. Just ... this whole exchange (including the pro-Army non-sequitur) is a good picture of Feinstein.
So it's not "Paul" Feinstein? Got it. I'm not up on any of this so I found a decent John Feinstein for Dummies (like me) kind of article on Bar Stool Sports.

Houston Fans Were So Pissed On Twitter They Bullied John Feinstein Into Giving Up His Vote In The College Hoops AP Top-25

That’s a great book.

My thoughts exactly. Came across as someone who had no idea people say mean things on the internet... Despite his job essentially being to say mean things on the internet lol
Sure wish we could bully the Lubbock TX sports guy out of the AP Football Poll. I think he basically refuses to rank G5 teams...all that much more ironic that most of the teams in the AAC would be better than Texas Tech if given B12 membership.

Haven't followed their writer (or the poll's individual voters, since we haven't been within shouting distance of a poll in a couple of years), but I can say that their fanbase is among the most delusional I've ever experienced. Convinced of their P5 superiority. Beating them in Birmingham was pretty darned satisfying.
