Unfortunately there was some ugly pushing and shoving and a UAB game nearly broke out at the end.

But we should find solace that we'll soon have a competent coaching staff.

At least S. Miss has hope because of a new coach....


Western is stuck with a coach that plays a qb that cant read a defense past a Jr HS level. On 90% of his passes he's late, high or low. As I said before that coach had the nerve to say this years offense could be close to the 2015 & 2016 Western offense. That should get a coach fired with cause.

One think will help S. Miss...one time transfer without sitting out. Western is stuck with a coach that thought Piggy was a QB

Thats the 3rd time ive watched wku this year. Ive thought all along you were a decent qb away from being good.

Please tell me why the hell Helton won't start one of our freshman qb's so he can get game time experience for next year. Nothing to lose since this season is a bust anyway. Damn it pisses me off to see Piggy getting all the reps. I have come to the conclusion Helton is clueless.

The fact that this Southern Miss team with a 3rd string QB (that is nowhere near ready to play at this level) with its 3rd head coach of the season had a chance to win this game in the final minutes was a shocker to me.

I have determined that the team that usually wins CUSA is the best combination of coaching and QB play.

Most 3rd string QBs aren't going to be very good at any school. They should try one of the walk-on QBs. I am sure one of them could at least complete a pass. Lowe needs to moved to LB next year. He just isn't a QB.

Any clue on the status of Whatley? Granted he's not the best passer but at least with him we've got a chance of him moving the chains with his feet.

No, I haven't heard, but I would guess he would be playing if possible. I would feel much more confident with Whatley. At least we have learned from this exercise that Lowe is not the future at that position and we will have to bring someone new in.
