I received the WBB non-conference home slate this week:

* Nov 25, 7 PM: Norfolk State
* Nov 28, 2 PM: Campbell
* Dec 11, 7 PM: UNCG
* Dec 29, TBD: Mercer

Along with the 10 home CAA games, WBB will thus have 14 home games this season.
Ok I’ll ask it because I know someone knows it. What’s up with Coach Barefoot. Always liked her since I met her in person the year she started at UNCW. What happened? Someone knows at least the accusation on here. If it’s personal to her health well being then no need to share. But seems very strange and uncw news outlets are as soft and understaffed as can be to investigate what happened. Miss Riley and Mull.

Tell me this isn’t some Jimmy Bass entangled PR nightmare again.
My impression after asking around is that their is no secret to what is going on. People truly just do not know what the situation is. Its almost as if she just walked away from the team. I hope she is ok and what ever the situation is it works out for her and UNCW.
She has not walked away from the team. It's a personal issue. And, if anything, she needs our prayers.

Thanks for clarifying. Seemed odd and I really liked her positivity and energy as a person and a coach. Hope whatever it is she gets the support she needs and deserves.

My interest was mainly around the radio silence knowing we have some history with oddities occurring behind closed doors. Glad to know it’s not that but hate for it to be something that she’s struggling through personally as well.
Women’s season is underway. They lead Norfolk St 38-25 at the half.

Freshman point guard Mary McMillan has stood out so far for the Lady Hawks. Started the game and has 10 points at the break. She looks confident and in control on the court. That’s big considering we lost both of our top point guards.
Lady Hawks win 67-47. Good start.
Webster had 12 points and 19 boards. She's listed as a guard.
Hawks trail Campbell 31-30 at the half.

The program found out yesterday that Senior PF Paige Powell has opted out for the season. It’s likely she’s played her last game as a Seahawk, as she’ll probably go the grad transfer route if she decides to use her last year of eligibility.

I don’t know enough about the women’s team to know what kind of impact to the team that is. I’m assuming it’s significant.

Losing a player always hurts, but she only played 4 minutes in her lone game. Meanwhile freshman F Taylor Webster looks great. We should be OK.

I'm thinking with what was brought in this year, she won't be missed as much as she would have been last year. This is a much bigger team than we are use to seeing.
Hawks fall to Campbell, 70-57.

Bad 2nd half where we got killed in the interior on defense.
WECT reports that coach Barefoot is back with the team. Welcome back coach.

WBB getting ready to rip off against UNCG (0-4). Definitely a winnable game, and while our OOC schedule has been weak so far, it would be hard to argue we’re not off to a good start if we can get to 3-1 today.

Coach Barefoot, who came back to coach the SC State road win, now returns to the Trask sideline today.
Lady Hawks are up 36-34 on UNCG with 3:38 left in the 3rd Quarter. Ugly game that the Seahawks have trailed most of the way but finally just clawed their way back to take the lead.

PF Taylor Webster twisted her ankle in the 1st half, while SG Za’Nautica Downs was inactive for today’s game.

Obusek leads the way with 12, McMillan has 10.
Hawks outscored UNCG 22-10 that quarter. Entering the 4th it’s Seahawks 45, Spartans 39.
Camille Downs making some great hustle plays and smart passes on offense. Leading the way on both ends of the floor.
