Jack had an unlucky (for stats) day yesterday. His two kicks came from midfield and the opponent 40. He came in with a 53 yard avg, and it's now 52.5 which leads the league. His net of 47.3 also leads the league.

This ESPN box score and play-by-play -- give a fumble to the long snapper, not Fox. It was recovered by Fox, who kicked a 55-yard punt.

Google blurbs of articles in the two Detroit papers (Free Press & News) seem to indicate that it was a low snap, but that Fox got the punt off. But the entire articles are behind their paywalls.

And this video of Detroit blocking an Indianapolis punt on the next series of downs includes the statement: "... just a moment ago the Detroit Lions avoided disaster when their punter picked it up off the ground ..."
