I crave their independence...you would almost mistake them for an ACC team with their amazing schedule this year.

They sure have impressed with some of their wins so far this year. I really think USM is in for a long night on this one.

Will this game get played since we just had to PPD for covid?

If so, good news for USM is we've had ample time to heal/practice over these past few weeks. Curious to see how our team comes out. USM gets the dub:

Will Freeze make a statement by curb stomping the Eagles like Will Hall did? Both have been rumored to be candidates for the HC job at USM. I doubt he would seriously leave LU for what I believe we can realistically pay, but it could get ugly either way...

Had Southern Miss played at UTEP this past weekend, they would have only had 44 or 45 scholarship athletes available. So, even if this game gets played and the Golden Eagles get some players back, they will still be low on numbers and depth will be severely limited. I agree that Liberty will win this one big.

I'd imagine Southern Miss wants to play bad whether they are missing a few players or not after having missed playing the last 2 weeks. I think they score on Liberty, but I just have a hard time seeing them stop the Flames offense.

My commonsense tells me I could be rich overnight betting the farm on Liberty and Alabama this weekend. We lose by 4 touchdowns and Alabama beats TN by about the same.

I am really looking forward to playing S. Miss on Saturday. What a great tradition USM has. As a long time UofL fan I have so much respect for S. Miss football. I was in the stands the day Brett Favre threw a hail mary that bounced off a UofL players helmet to be a game winning completion for a TD. And who will ever forget the incredible “Mills Kills” play.
