Can't afford to spot them 21 points off turnovers like we did with Tulane. They didn't look great against UTSA this week but they looked great in their previous three wins. BYU by 7 would be my prediction right now.

byu isnt the best team on out schedule..i guess betting la tech, troy and utsa is al it takes to impress you, after coming off a 7-6 season
ucf, smu and memphis are still more worrisome to me

Pesik calls another one 03-lmfao

BYU is the by far the best team on your schedule

And BYU did that without their 6-4 325 NT Tonga who didn't make the trip. That guy demands two OL to keep him off the QB.
I was hoping for the Tulane win, too. The quicker the AAC undefeated teams fall, the better the chance for an undefeated Marshall to make the Access bowl.
WKU plays at BYU at the end of the month. I'm expecting a loss by over 4 TDs.
BYU is currently sitting at 11 games, there are a few open dates at the end of the year that may work for Marshall and BYU. That would be the cherry on top if our programs could work it out.

I don't care if we have to fly out to play at BYU, that is a game that needs to be scheduled.

You don't want that BYU smoke, chief. They didn't even have their best defensive player @ Houston. Tonga is unblockable.

I like our offensive line, I'll put our offensive line against just about any team in the country.

nice attitude to see vs the uH fans that are now crying to stop playing BYU because "BYU is irrelevant because they are independent" 03-drunk

"if the AAC just stopped playing BYU they would be even more irrelevant"......yea what a stupid comment when one sees the schedule that BYU had to start the year

not to mention that BYU allowed the game to be moved to uH and they brought more fans to the game and then took the win......what an "irrelevant" team 04-chairshot03-lmfao
Houston paying way to much for Dana Holgorsen mediocrity. Surely the fans had to wonder how Houston was allowed to "steal" Holgorsen away from WVU.

it was not like WVU fans did not try and warn them, but uH fans are so stupid they thought it was WVU fans trying "subterfuge" to keep him

when in reality WVU fans were praying he would go and pay WVU a cool million to leave vs WVU having to either fire him that year or the next and pay him

uH was desperate to "make a splash" and do the pretend P5/P6 thing and to get a coach that would not leave them after a couple of good seasons

the real screw up was trying to bind a coach with a ridiculous buy out to leave when they hired Applewhite and leaving them with no real option other than Applewhite because no other coach was going to agree to that buyout

his record spoke for itself.....decline from the program he took over after backstabbing the former coach, poor recruiting, and always blowing at least one a game a year they should have won.....and being aloof towards the team and generally wearing out his welcome

could not happen to a more deserving program and fan base

I think we have a good offensive line, but we have not played a really a good team to date.
I hope Marshall and BYU play this season. Would be a great game to watch and give Marshall a chance for a new years day game if they were to win.

We're trying to schedule teams, even within our conference.

But no one wants to play Marshall.

I think that we have a small chance for a ny6 bowl, things are going our way at the moment. The aac teams are beating each other up which is good, Louisiana lost, we really need byu to finish undefeated beating the Mwc top dogs in the process. ALOT has to happen but there is a chance.

True. No shame in that.

Not totally impossible, but..... i wouldn’t exactly bet on it, either.

A 1-loss team from Aack! will get picked ahead of undefeated CUSA team. A 2-loss team is another story. Stay tuned.

This year is a different beast. At the the moment, the AAC really doesn't have a single significant OOC win in the entire league. At one point, UCF may have claimed a "signature win over Georgia Tech", but GT claimed a 70 point loss today, and with UCF now on 2 conference losses they are pretty much toast.

Cincinnati has a win over then #22 Army, which is on par with our win over then #23 App State. And that's it. We'll see if Marshall can get a game during its 4 week layoff between its final conference game and the league title game that can add to the SoS, but there's not enough of a schedule difference this year to make the claim that even a 1 loss AAC should go ahead of Marshall.

I'd be more weary of an undefeated Boise being chosen over an undefeated Marshall more than I would a 1-loss AAC. I think people will try to reference the 14-7 game last year between Boise and Marshall, but there's a case there that Marshall's offense and defense are both vastly improved this year. And they will make the same case. The sad part is Boise was supposed to play at Marshall this season before the MWC "cancelled".

This can be a 'special' year, and I really hope that we find something those first two weeks of December that can try to further reward this group.

I don’t claim they should. I just believe they would. This is not an objective/neutral process, as we all know.

Hey I’d love to see Marshall in the Peach Bowl or whatever the Access Bowl is this season. And like I said before, it’s not 100% impossible. But there are about 929 pieces of a 1,000-piece puzzle that still need to fall in place.
The weekend of November 28 is the weekend.

Marshall is off. We could schedule a game with any one of these schools, who have open dates as well on the 28th.

BYU
Army
Navy
Liberty

Army and Navy would not even consider it.

BYU would consider it — as long as we go to Provo.

Liberty — now that is an intriguing option. Geographic proximity plus a willingness to do things out of the box.

One caveat — Liberty plays @NC State on 11/21 and @Coastal Carolina on 12/05. They may not want 3 road games in a row, unless they get something in exchange, like a long-term H/A series. But worth exploring.
