I think Drew Lowder will be awesome at EMU. What's everyone's thoughts on the guy? Second to Ray Lee?
I think he’s going to be fantastic here. Very excited to watch him play. Our biggest weakness from last season (PG play), could turn into our biggest strength this year.
I would be happy if he is Neely or Talley III the big improvement is avoiding turnovers scoring when fouled and a threat to score from the outside.

Neely is an All Time great, of course you'd be happy with that!
BTW, the Blue Ribbon Yearbook is out. The big story line, I think, is our big men. Don't expect to see polished post play and shooting ala Toure', JT4, etc. Hopefully they play good defense.

The article indicates how bad our 3-point and FT shooting was last season.

We'll see how Drew, McBride, etc. do.

Drew will be key but don't sleep on Miles Gibson.
BTW, we need to 'know' that Love had 3 foot injuries which means he missed a ton of development and PT. Seems like Toure'

Will he be healthy and productive? Time will tell. This isn't like JT4 where you know any given year what you would get.
BTW, NCAA is poised to grant another year of elig for winter sports players.
I can get the tweet if needed.

Any other tidbits worth sharing?

I think we mostly expected our new centers to be little more than big bodies in the middle of the zone. I honestly think Ballard could steal minutes from them too. Our success will largely depend on improved guard play and our returnees taking the next step. Big year for Groce, Morgan, and Montero.
Three Man Weave put out their preview for the MAC too. They have us 9th.

So this will be the end of the road for Murphy...finally.
What happens if they allow the basketball players season to not count against eligibility like football? Does Murphy get fired with basically an entire team coming back......Could be interesting!

I wonder if a shortened season changes the 20 win portion of his contract. If the season is only 25 games, does the it remain the same? Is it lowered.

Nonetheless, I hope Murphy and company go undefeated.

Good question.

I think the schedule will be 'tougher' in that we probably won't have 4 non-D-I games. However, I doubt we'll be flying across the country to places like Duke, CA, Texas, Syracuse, etc.

I wonder if our non-D-I typical foes are even playing ball this season???

As everyone knows I am not a fan of Rob Murphy. That being said, we are in an unprecedented time and I think a coaching change after this season would be unwise regardless of the results. The EMU budget is in crisis and I certainly don't want a budget hire like WMU did. 2020-21 is a "lost" season, the normalcy of the 20 win extension is gone and honestly any results of play during the season are going to be hollowed as a result of the pandemic. Let the smoke of the pandemic clear, the EMU finances become more definitive and we actually have a chance of performing a true coaching search before we pull the trigger.
We could see more often than not Lowder Binelli Groce Morgan Gibson/Montero starting. Sorry for any typos.
We missed 20 last year by 4 games. I agree with Jerry this season to determines fate is out the.window. Ditto that for football.

Disagree. He was only brought back this season because of Covid. He doesn't get 2 Covid mulligans.

He was brought back this season because he has a year left on his contract. There was no way Wetherbee buys him out after extending him after the 2017-18 season while dropping other sports. He would have appeared absolutely clueless and tone deaf to financials.
