It's on 2:30 PM (Stadium or Fox affiliate - thanks CUSA).

Tulane is a -3.5 point favorite. Gameday thinks we'll cover, which normally means it will end in chaos.

USM leads 23-8, with Tulane currently in possession of the trophy.

Both teams wet the bed late after building big leads. Common game results favor Tulane, but those were 1st game results so those mean very little.

This is shaping up to be one of those highly entertaining bad football games.
Am I the only one who thinks we blow them out of the water? Like I’m thinking 49-7 along those lines. We are just way too powerful for a Conference USA team. It’s like Alabama playing a high school team. Maybe that’s just me.

Two issues:

1. The secondary has been poor.
2. The QB play has been awful despite having a great rushing attack to play off of.

I think we win because USM has bigger issues than we do at this moment in time. I don't expect any style points to come.
Blowout is on. Southern Miss is up 14-0 in under 5 minutes. Tulane's defense has taken the day off.
USM throws Tulane a gift.

It's now 14-7.

That’s the most they get. We will respond with 42 unanswered points. Book it.
Keon Howard is horrible.

He's already been sat for the true freshman Michael Pratt. He was a high 3* with a few P5 offers from Florida.

This is a FREE eligibility season - so might as well start the future?
I wish I could find a TV stream for this.
Looking at the gamecasts, this offense is starting to finally sing again.

14-14 early 2nd.
Direct tv.... channel 676-1 is working in New Orleans
Abraham is taking a blowtorch to this secondary.

21-14 USM.
FWIW, it's on U-Verse channel 1729 FSSEHD (in Bham, Al)
We will make the adjustments. Southern miss blew a 17 point lead last week. I’m not worried. C-USA teams do not have the talent or depth to go four quarters with an AAC team. Not even close.
It's 21-21 after USM gives Tulane another gift and Pratt throws a strike (throws!).

USM have wasted soooo many chances to put this game to bed.
With Pratt in at QB Tulane is a different team on offense. Now need to work out secondary issues.
It’s starting to be beat down city. 31-21 Tulane. I honestly don’t know why we schedule these C-USA schools, they are beneath us.
what dis usm doing???

Southern Miss is a traditional rival.

Lost in all of this realigment stuff is that there are annual games that shouldn't be taken away under any circumstances.

In theory, Tulane should play LSU, Southern Miss, and then two easy wins every season.
Tulane's running game is scary IF AND ONLY IF Pratt continues to grow and forces teams to be honest against the occasional shot downfield. I think it can happen.
