Absolutely true. He said the Big 12 has two teams at the top and then a lot of mediocrity. OU definitely would be the best team in the AAC, but beyond them and Texas, the Big 12 has nothing. They've been owned by the Sun Belt. The AAC has at least 4 teams that would handle anyone in the Big 12 except OU and Texas.

I wouldn't say that no one in the AAC could handle Texas either. I think any one of Cincy, Memphis, or UCF could possibly beat them. It's OU, then everyone else.
What's important is they are talking about this now. That means it is likely to keep coming up through out the season. This will strengthen an argument for the AAC undefeated champ in a play off, especially if it's a Big 12 champ and big 10 champ with one loss, a second place SEC champ with two losses a one loss Clemson/ND losing to each other.

Not saying it will get us in, but the argument will be what's important. That will open the doors we're trying to bang on. This is the national media hearing us knock.

I think Texas wants no part of SMU either. UCF/Cincy would be even money or advantage. Memphis and SMU would definitely give them a game.

Versus OU I think Cincy could win with a ground, possesion control type game, Army showed they are vulnerable to that type. UCF it's a shoot out like the Baylor game for OU last year. I think OU would be favored by one or two TDs against either. Memphis and SMU probably don't match up well.

So I would say its

1. OU
2. UCF/Cincy
3A. Texas, Memphis
3B. SMU
4. OSU, Kansas St, Navy, TCU, WVU
5. Iowa St, Tulane, Kansas
6. Texas Tech, Tulsa
7. USF

Baylor, Houston, Temple, ECU haven't played yet. Baylor, Houston and Temple are probably a 4/5.

Yeah, I didn't mean it that way. I think Texas would be a fight with our Top 4, but we'd have a good shot at winning. I don't think anyone else in the Big 12 save OU could beat our top 4 except by something fluky. Clearly OSU isn't very good, nor are K-State, KU, ISU or Texas Tech. Not sure about TCU/Baylor/WVU, they might be competitive with us, but they wouldn't be favored to win the AAC by any stretch. But clearly our Top 4 would be very competitive in the Big 12 no problem.
When the hell is Oklahoma and Texas just going to leave already and join the SEC so we can have some changes?
They can leave and then the B12 can add Memphis, UCF, Cincinnati & BYU and actually become the big "12".
Nah, just go on and add SMU, Houston, USF and Tulane as well to get to 16 like the SEC. Then you have:
WEST- TTU, TCU, Baylor, BYU, OSU, SMU, Houston, Tulane.
EAST- KSU, KU, ISU, UC, UWV, Memphis, UCF, USF.

In general I agree, although OU & Cincy played their FCS warm up games so really the jury is still out there but all seems well during the warm up.
Crazy talk thinking Texas will leave the current setup.

Thank you. Texas and oklahoma have it made. Why would they leave? OU has been in the playoff how many years in a row?

3-2-2-2 scheduling format and align the schedules so that everyone plays in at least one game in Texas every year.

With 4 teams in the Eastern time zone, BYU in the West and 5 teams in Texas, this conference stays a real competitor for the #3 conference, with the ability to compete against both the ACC and the PAC.

For the life of me I don't know why people don't get this. Texas and Oklahoma both have the goal every season of winning a national championship and their fans demand it. The Big XII is the easiest route to that hands down. They are the **** of the walk in the Big XII, why the hell would they leave that to get beaten down by Alabama and LSU every year? It ain't happening.
Dream ON...
Agree. Okie and Texas are going nowhere. Although they did seriously flirt with the Pac a few years ago.

Yeah the PAC and Big 12 have completely flipped roles. The pac is lucky to have their geography because if not they'd be ready to crumble and be poached

Waiting to see the next Longhorn Network extention.
When I think about it y'all are right why would they leave.
Do you guys think the Big 12 will ever expand without anyone leaving or?

I think they are like us right now, in that no one that would actually add value is interested in joining them. They could potentially lure in a PAC-12 team like Utah if the PAC-12 network keeps floundering, but that wouldn't really represent a big shift in the landscape.

But, like others have said, OU and Texas are on a gravy train with biscuit wheels. History has shown that the Big12 champ can make the playoff. No one outside of Clemson in the ACC has an easier path. One of them could join the ACC...but then they'd have Clemson in the way. It's definitely not a money thing for Texas. They make more than any other program right where they are.

There is too much of a cultural and institutional bias against the expansion front runners from this conference (UC, Memphis, Houston, UCF/USF). They built this autonomy structure to further subjugate the likes of us.
