The NCAA announced today that both Men's & Women's Basketball teams can begin playing on 11/25. They said it is highly unlikely any team will be able to play before that date, and that includes both exhibition games and scrimmages with other schools. Some other highlights of the upcoming Men's season includes:
* The Maximum number of games allowed will be reduced to 25, plus one multi-team event.
* The Minimum number of games played to qualify for the NCAA Post Season Tournament has been reduced 50% to 13 games that includes a minimum of 4 non conference games.
* Full preseason practice will begin on 10/14 with 30 practices permitted over 42 days before the start of the season. In addition, limited strength & conditioning and skill instructions will be allowed beginning on 09/21.
* The NCAA Post Season Tournament is still scheduled for March with the normal 68 team field playing at various sites.
